I saw them perform this live in Leeds on the first night of the tour, and it was so emotional. So let's raise a few glasses: to Birmingham, birthplace of metal; to Lemmy (RIP); to Sabaton; and to those who sacrificed so much. My wife's grandfather was one of those who lied about his age - he was only _14_ when he went to the Front! He got out alive, thanks to some amazing luck: he was wounded and taken to a field hospital, and his own father was there at the same time. He swore a lot when he saw his son, then wrote to his wife back home explaining the situation. She in turn sent evidence of their boy's age to the War Office and they pulled him out. After he came home he never spoke to anyone in the family about his experiences. Greetings from South Yorkshire - Lest We Forget.

This song probably hits a whole lot harder in that part of the country..I doubt there were many in attendance that did not have a relative lost at the Somme

This is a cover of a Motörhead song, the two guys standing at the door opening at 6:39 are Mikkey Dee and Phil Campbell, the drummer and the guitarist of Motörhead. As you said the picture is of Lemmy Kilmister, the bassist, and singer of Motörhead. All the other soldiers in the video are references to other songs Sabaton has done.

All of the soldiers haven't been in a Sabaton song yet, as far as I know. Lachhiman Gurung VC the gurkha with the Thompson gun haven't nor has Awal Nur, the guy with the turban.

I had tears in my eyes...😢
Good homage to other soldiers dying face down in the mud as well as an
*Homage to Motorhead* who recorded the song originally.
Their videos are probably a better history 📚 lesson than what is taught in schools now! Sabaton is an absolutely fantastic band!
    Powerful song!
    Well done SABATON ❣️
    Thanks from the Netherlands 🇳🇱

It's going to be interesting to see how my cousin will use this song and video in her classes. She's a history teacher and she uses Sabatons videos and music as openers and icebreakers for her students.

I saw them live at my 21st well the day after, again a few years later at sabaton open air when I had my tattoo signed by the band and shook the singer hand (know his name but spelling!) and then I was front when they played wacken 2019! And then saw them again less than two weeks later. A truly amazing band, and they honestly are a gem. And even the few moments I’ve spoken to the members or even had a photo! They’ve been amazing and just wonderful people. Truly an amazing band.

This has the same vibe as Christmas Truce you reacted to. Most of their stuff is different, with more energy and faster pace lol the music in this one is even more sad than Christmas Truce.
I'm not the biggest fan of Sabaton but those two, among a few others, I do like, and I gotta appreciate their cinematic talent they have. It's incredible. As far as I know most of their videos are like that.
Also I never mind if Noah comes and interrupts your videos lol he's adorable ❤

For me, getting into music in 1980
    I went hardcore punk rock
but Motörhead were the heavy band
    who played fast and loud
    that didn't have shrill vocals
When I was at college they came to the local theatre
    and did a concert
I didn't go - I just sat in the bar opposite the venue
    and listened
It was SO LOUD you could hear it across the street
    like a record LOL
I liked their albums up to Iron Fist
(the one after Ace of Spades
    - "and don't forget the joker" is my favourite line
    introducing the guitar solo).
I grew up in Yorkshire in England
and every village, town and city have
war memorials to the dead in WW1
Even my school (equivalent to a High School in the US)
had a war memorial in the entrance lobby.

I was waiting for this reaction, I wasn't disapointed... This song (and Motorhead's original) is important and once Ron's son gets to 16 to become an obnoxious teenager that complains about how hard his life sucks, I can see Ron sitting him in front of this masterpiece to have a serious conversation about how to put things into perspective...

The history of europe , the sad thing is this song only depicts one battle in 4 year war on a frontline that streched from belgium to the swiss alps .
and to think this type of war was raged again less than 20 years later .
Europe with 2000 years of bloodshed wars that where measured in decades and centuries . and death tolls in percentages of the european population .
Just imagine 2000 years of war in the region that is now the boarders of France , germany , italy , and regions of northern france and benelux countries . literaly millions died . the longest european peace had up till that point was the peace treaty of Utrecht in 1714 10 to 15 years of peace . before it all started over again .
It tells you why europe is verry reluctant to pull out the guns and go back to war as finaly the monster has been put to sleep and must be kept that way otherwise the world will burn ones more.
