Eugene told that they write songs separately from each other. Everybody needs some time to procrastinate after a tour. They write their own part and send it to others members. Everybody take their time and experiment. But the final version forms only in the studio with professional sound editor. He chooses the best options and tells how to make it sound better. You can find the process of songwriting on their channel. Search Jinjer Studio.

I believe I said it in an earlier reaction, but I'll say it again... reactions from musicians, music teachers and vocal coaches are the best. I always learn something new or a tiny detail I missed is pointed out. Now for the drummers, Dmitry played drums for the album this song is on and even though he's in the video, I believe Vlad was already with the band. There are tour videos of Tatiana with dreads and Vlad with Jinjer, while this is clearly after she cut her hair. When Kim left Jinjer, they parted on VERY good terms and are still friends. In fact he has and still does some studio recording and editing work with them. Since Kim played the original recording, I'm sure they invited him back to record this video.

this is from the era of pisces and sit stay roll over. for me it's like the ultimate jinjer song. guys would record songs they wrote or parts of songs with basic sampled drums and send to each other to do actual arrangements, smth like that. tatiana listens to instrumental parts and writes lyrics based on them. then she comes to the studio, generally with just the lyrics, and improvises during the recording. in the album which is soon to be released they did pre-production for vocals, which is different, so we'll see how that turns out. vlad also plays piano and guitar (maybe a little bass), so aside from beats he would bring songs written sometimes. for example retrospection is a whole song where the guitar parts are written by vlad. that is my suggestion

Another great reaction my friend. The drummer in this video as well as the King of Everything album is Dmitry Kim, he's an absolute beast on the drums as you already know. He was a replacement drummer after their previous drummer Eugene Mantulin had a horrific accident and could no longer play. Dmitry came in and would have been the permanent replacement drummer but chose not to because he couldn't commit to Jinjers' insane touring schedule, so he was a "fill in" until they could find a permanent replacement which ended up being Vlad in 2016. He is still involved with Jinjer in the sound engineering side of them, and he was recently in the studio helping their engineer Max Morton with Vlad's drum recording/mixing for Jinjers' upcoming 4th album. Looking forward to more Jinjer reactions, and as always, stay Metal my friend. 😊🤘🤘🤘🎶🎶🎶 Oh as far as a suggestion for a future Jinjer reaction, I'm gonna suggest Ape (OMV), it's insane, you'll love it

Great analysis. I don't know the details of their composition process on this. Eugene has said that Roman did most of the songwriting until Vlad joined the band but now composition is shared between the three guys.
Older stuff to check out are Scissors official, and Exposed As A Liar either official or the live version entitled "Crowd Factory Live DVD Trailer" or the like, both from the first record with Tatiana doing all the vocals, called Inhale Do Not Breathe. From the next album Cloud Factory are Outlander where the most popular video is the one uploaded by "Failure .Color", and Cloud Factory either official or official live. This and Pisces are both from their album King Of Everything, and the rest of the songs you've heard have been from Micro and Macro. There is an older EP called Objects In Mirror Are Closer Than They Appear but it has basically none of the current members, maybe Roman in some but we don't have that credited, Tati in one sone in one version of the record.

    Hey JW,
I just wanted to say a big thanks to you for starting this channel with a different background and focus than the vast majority of other reactors. Ever since I heard Jinjer for the first time, every single member of the band blew me away. I knew from then on that this was going to be a long journey. Three years later, absolutely still loving their sound and seemingly continuing to improve all around, especially in their songwriting. When a new song comes out, it's like a new secret Santa present to open up not knowing what to expect. But you know it's Jinjer and it's going to be great. Now I'm looking forward to seeing them live for the 2nd time December in Phoenix. Sorry I'm ranting, but I absolutely love your reactions because you focus on the instruments, which I'm more keen on listening to having a background in that space. It's fascinating finding new elements I wasn't picking up on in some of their songs. Don't get me wrong, I love Tatiana's vocals and think she's amazing, but feel the focus usually is put on her in reactions. It's refreshing to hear your in depth analysis of the members that are usually left in the background as well as the musical composition. I think every member of the band has extraordinary talent on their craft but above all else, there isn't a single greedy person there which I believe makes it special. No one trying to show off, just all in it to come together and produce the best music together.
Jinjer just put out a new music video of their single "Vortex" to their upcoming album coming in Aug. Being a new release (yesterday) I think your channel could get some well earned visibility and growth if you were to react to it in the near future. It's definitely a banger. Looking forward to your future content and wish you the best of luck on your reaction journey.

It really took me a while to get into this song, at least 5-6 full listening, but it is now on my regular playlist. I love the breakdown of the drumming you did at 7:47 I always liked that part but didn't know what made it good. Loved how you explained the different transitions of types of drums over that short period.
Eversince I got into this song, I always saw I speak astronomy as there pop song inclusion in their sound. I am always reminded of songs of lady gaga when she speaks in robot and then whisper, even the beat for me has underlying of pop in it, under the heavy riffs, lol. Might just be me tho.
Great reaction as always. As other songs, if you wand to go further back you can always do Who is gonna be the one, live or not. If you think Jinjer can´t suprise you anymore: Check out Prologue and Beggar´s Dance. Pls do both songs short after each other, best in a sigle reaction video, because there are connectet to each other. Prologue is the first song on the King of Everything album and beggar´s dance is the last one, so they are the "Frame" of the whole album wich is kinda cool. also Know that this is the album with i speak astronomy, pisces, captain clock usw are on as well.
I promise you, you wont be disapointed and for a Musik lover, with a interesst in diverse styles of musik, Prologue and Beggar´s dance are just perfect and both are a whole new side from jinjer i think you dont know jet.

You might like "Retrospection" - the official video. Like "Home Back", it addresses returning home.
After that, "Who is gonna be the one?", live.
The one take video of Tatyana singing "Judgement and Punishment"
The live version of "Bad Water". This is an older song, but one of my favorites.
They all have surprises. Even if you know there are going to be surprises.

I've enjoyed all your Jinjer reactions (my FAV band). Everyone is gonna say "Whose gonna be the one" Live for the next BUT you also HAVE to check out Ape official vid (insane riffing that you'd Love!) and some of their "Live in Melbourne" vids Sit Stay Rollover and Retrospection.. Others Captain Clock official lyric vid, Noah, Just Another, Outlander, Words of Wisdom (great hardcore track). Just do all of them... haha..
And FYI the drummer here is Dmitry Kim, he's a longtime friend of the band and did the drumming (yes there his parts, not written for him) on King of Everything after the previous broke his back. Dmitry is still heavily involved with Jinjer and does a lot of the audio mixing.

Jinjer are So humble, Zero cockiness in fact they all downplay their talent, they get embarrassed when praise is given to them.
Their almost done with the new album, it's gonna be Epic. Eugene said fans are gonna Love it cause they took the most time of any music endeavor. On all the other albums they literally wrote them while they were on tours & produced them super fast cause of time constraints...

This one is a sound, lyrical and visual epic journey! I say this everytime I see your Jinjer reactions, but I gotta say it again: great video man, the way you decompose the instruments and more technichal side of the music is what we, casual listeneners, come here for! I always learn something or discover a tiny piece of the puzzle that I didn´t know it was there.
As for the construction of the songs, Eugene (bass) said that with the arrival of Vlad (drums) the dynamic changed a lot. Before Roman (guitar) would come up wit the riffs and both of them would build around that, with not that much input from the drum player. For the last album and especially for the upcoming album, Eugene said that Vlad did a lot of the work in building the base of the songs and then the three worked together to come up with the final product.
As people in comments already suggested, next should be the amazing older banger "Who´s Gonna Be The One" live, it´s even earlier than this one but it´s a fan favourite, much simpler than recent work, but hard as nails, infectious and with a live performance to match! You´ll love it! Keep up the great vids.

8:49 - As far as I know, Kim was in charge of coming up with his own creations for each song of the album. I've never heard Eugene mentioning that him or any other band member was responsible for the drum parts and Kim just executed them. They've always had excellent drummers, I don't think Eugene or Roman would want (or were able) to tell them what to do. : )

I agree with someone further down the list of comments, next song should be Retrospection (offical video). I don't think it has nearly enough hits on CZcams, my 2nd favorite song from Macro after Home Back. Btw, this song and the sassiness. I think it comes from Tatiana whispering in some parts, and the fact that it is actually a love song. Maybe their only one so far, not sure? Anyway, the drummer here is Dimitri Kim, a really good drummer, but with a very different style compared to Vlad. Loved the reaction and analysis, looking forward to the next one.

I know that with the _current_ lineup, their songwriting style is very collaborative. Vlad, Eugene, and Roman write the riffs and movements that form the foundation of a song. Then they give early cuts to Tatiana to create lyrics and melodies. Tati says she sometimes writes in English, directly; other times, she writes in Russian and then translates to English.
At this point, though... I'm not sure. I think the drummers have some significant input, and given that Dmitriy Kim is a session drummer by trade, I suspect that they had the songs mostly worked out, and he did his take of drums for them, and they likely collaborated to refine it all? But that's just supposition.
Ultimately, the reason I feel like Vlad is _the_ drummer for Jinjer is that he simply _won't_ just play the part. He adds himself into them, passionately, no matter what. This is most easily apparent by listening to his recording of Pisces (the live studio session everyone reacts to first) and then the album version. The drums on the album version are... I mean, they're alright. I would've thought they were fine if I'd heard that first, when the album came out. But compared to Vlad's reconceptualization, it's kind of a bit phoned-in. And that's kind of the case with anything they play live from the pre-Vlad era; he plays the part _mostly_ as written, but with lots of extra ghost notes, added polyrhythmic accents, etc, that give it that Jinjer magic.
Edit: Oh, also, Vlad is the most formally trained and educated among them, so he's had a big hand in composition on Micro and Macro. He graduated from a music college with, I believe, a piano performance degree. There's a cool video of him playing Rachmaninoff's Prelude in G#-minor. Not my favorite interpretation of it ever, but it's undeniably good, and better than I can do!
Here's a good interview with him where he talks about their writing process. TLDR; they start with guitar riffs, record a demo with electronic drums, send it to Tati to write vocals over, and repeat until they're ready to record. www.rocksins.com/2020/03/interview-with-jinjers-vladislav-ulasevich-i-dont-know-what-we-will-do-next-time-just-yet-you-will-have-to-come-along-to-see-39210/
