Sad to say that even in the comments section of this video there is a lot of negativity & envy. Sad that we cant be proud of our kababayan who in his own way has uplifted the plant industry here to world class recognition. Blood, sweat, tears, failures & hard earned money spent to accumulate knowledge that would benefit Filipinos. I salute you Sir & only wish that you continue your journey & hopefully inspire / mentor the next batch of plant aficionados, breeders, propagators & visionaries like you!
Everyone is free to express their own opinions and that's how things progress. If everybody is gullible or just accepts everything then all of us will get scammed. Propagating succulent plants is not complicate at all! The technology already existed in many countries. Doing business is good but be reasonable. Greed is never good.

I agree with sir Boyet that government is lack of support. We have the vast flora, fauna and biodiversity but we dont have conservatory and big botanical garden. I once remember during my working time in one of big lanscaping firm in Brunei, most of the plants when they started came from Philippines, but in the late 90's they started importing from Thailand. Philippines is left behind.

That is true. The giant Fern of Valencia, Negros Oriental were taken by Australians and propagating it. Sad to say the Giant Fern is not mass produced and cultivated by Valencia and Negros Oriental anymore. Support is needed.

Sa lahat ng gastos sa research at propagation ng plants Yung reason. It takes years, mga gasto sa materials, labs or tissue culture Minsan, sweldo mo sa tao. Kung baga expenses. Gaya sa pag gawa ng medicine, Yung lahat ng gastos ay dapat iconsider mo. Sa Thailand, Indonesia, horticulture is a multi million industry. Same sa Europe like Holland,and France. In Asia it includes Taiwan and Japan and US. The main purpose of all these is also plant conservation Kasi you don't have to steal plants (or animals) from their natural habitat and by creating new varieties, mas may chance silang mabuhay sa new climate natin instead of millions of years, it took several years na lang. I guess people should learn botany before they complain. Of course Yung price, pag di mo kaya bakit mo naman bibilhin? In a few years, like how demands fluctuates, Babana rin Yung price and new varieties naman ang papalit. If others say may iba pang priority ang government like food, of course priority Yun but of you want to help more people get jobs at me perang papasok from other countries, we should really set Thailand as an example. Tamad lang talaga Pinoy kaya puro reklamo. Sabi nga ng mga naka-tatanda, tingnan mu my na sarili mu bago mang husga. This industry is an opportunity para sa lahat. Pag pessimists ka talaga hanggang diyan ka na lang.

Why is it so expensive in the Philippines? LOL I have seen those succulent plants in one of the supermarkets here in France ( prpbably from Thailand ) and it only cost 5 €uros only! A person must be crazy enough to spend 10M just for that plant!

It not just the plant they want to buy with 10 million but the transfer of technology also. That what the indonesian buyer wants and Sir Boyet will not sell it.its more than 10million for that.

@@leahprieto9687 I believe that's how proprietary right works. Pag kasama technology sa bibilhin, the owner can demand. But for this plant, the buyer was the one who quoted for the price as they might gain more when they mass produce. Just my 1 cent thought 😊

It's a multi million industry ito. Yes, Hindi kaya ng ordinary Pilipino. I mean alam mo di mo kaya bakit mo naman bibilhin. Parang sinabi mo narin na di mo na kayang kumain, kakain ka pa rin ba? Yun Yung logic. But if you see it on the other side, it's an opportunity para sa negosyo as export for other countries. Kaya nga Kilala Sina Thailand, Indonesia, Taiwan, Japan, Holland, US sa mga horticulture products di ba? Nature make humans connect to nature, that's why some people buy plants instead of sapatos, o bag o games. It also servers as conservation project for all plants and animals in the planet because nababawasan Yung poaching at you help a plant survive sa climate change by shortening the millions of years time for them to evolve. It's an important thing about learning botany and conservation.

Supply and demand parang art lang yan pag rare yung painting tapos 1 to 1 syempre mataas price nun para sa collectors/enthusiast. Hindi naman ikaw ang market eh kung may pake ka sa kpop wala kaming pake dyan zero value yan para sa amin.
