Maybe you should remind people that they need to be aware of a few things while taking apart an oven door. Don’t do it unless you can afford to fix it. And don’t do it if you need to use your oven any time soon, in case you can’t get it back together. My dad was an appliance repair tech for 30 years and I remember countless people taking apart their oven doors and not able to put them back together properly. If you have to wait a few days for a tech to come do it, it’s probably not a good plan to try this the day before making a turkey or something.
Well done for taking on this challenge of not using oven cleaner. It turned out great. This family must be delighted. Well done to the homeowner working away with boxes of paper while you worked your magic on the oven. Have a great week. Mary, Joes wife 🙇♀️👏💪👍🙏💐
Game changer! I treated my oven to this and also put a new bulb in. I had no idea that I could do this with the door. Now I can see through the glass again. Mine was easier and only needed 2 screws and the top piece of glass slides into place.
Yes! I just randomly tried this about 10 years ago because I thought, "there has to be a way to get in between the glass," so I broke out my tools and went at it without even bothering to look up how to. I wish I had looked it up first because some models are easier to get back together than others, but most are "figure-outable" and I did eventually figure it out and now have it down. Haha!
This was super helpful instructions on how to take oven door off. Thanks SO
MUCH for all you do to bless others with your free cleaning services.I
Definitely saving this video for when I clean my oven. It needs some serious TLC!
A handheld steamer works WONDERS on those edges and tiny gaps.
Wow I have never seen this method! I will definately try this one. Oven cleaner just smells so horrible so this is perfect ❤ thank you!
I never knew you could take the oven door off and apart! I am cleaning mine asap! Thank you! BTW I heard about you from Midwest Magic Cleaning. Glory to God for the kindness you both show to people.
Oh how I’d love to attempt the door part but am so intimidated by it. I keep my stove and oven clean but always thought I’d somehow break something. Awesome job!
Well, even if you don't take it apart, even just taking the door off (which is super simple and easy to get back on, I promise 😁), it makes it so much easier to clean everything thoroughly and saves your back and knees a little bit. Try it!🤗
Thank you for this video. I love oven cleans, so satisfying.
I don't understand why they couldn't move the parrot to another room for a few hrs while you used oven cleaner. That oven needed chemical. But it looks way better. Awesome job.
I'm sure they could have, but I have actually wanted to try to do an oven cleaning w/o using oven cleaner, so this was the perfect opportunity to do this.
You can get washable nonstick liners to put in the bottom of your oven. Probably would be better to use instead of aluminium foil.
I have chemical sensativities. What a great tutorial. And I love how matter of fact you are... Hugs
SUBBED!
Wow! I feel like a celebrity just subbed! Thank you so much! I love your content and I love that there are more and more free cleaners out there and that we all do it a little bit different. I'm definitely not a talker like you. I don't articulate very well live, but I'm super passionate about cleaning and helping people! I'm so glad my message got through on your live post!! I will email you about doing a collab. Probably couldn't do it until the fall as my summer is super busy already, but I definitely want to make it happen!
You should watch my video "Teen Room Transformation." I mention you in it and I'm actually watching one of your videos while I clean, which I show everyone...haha!
Birds are not just sensitive to odors, it can kill them. Like over heated teflon. Birds should never be kept in the kitchen. They can also get a severe respiratory disease from cleaning products/fumes. Ever hear about the canary in the coal mine? Miners would take a canary into a coal mine to see if there are any undetected deadly fumes. If the canary died, the miners wouldn't go in.
I do remember now that they used to do that with canaries. As for the parrot being kept in the kitchen, it probably would be ideal if they could keep him somewhere else, but he is not directly in the kitchen, rather in the attached dining room and he is around 20 years old if I remember correctly, so whatever they are doing to keep him safe, it seems to be working. I don't know that, in this house specifically, there is a better place for him to be. I appreciate that you want the best for the bird though!
@ABeautifulMessExtremeCle-zl1wp it's good that he's not directly in the kitchen. Makes me feel better. Parrots can live to be 50-70 yrs old or more. He's still young. Thanks for letting me know. I worked in pet shops most of my life. It's scary that customers don't do their research on pets they buy. I had 8 parrots.... all of them I rescued. It's like having 8 toddlers in the house... but noisier, lol. Thanks again for letting me know. Great job on the oven!
I've never seen an oven clean like that. I'll have to try
thanks.. didn't have the guts to try this, now I'll give it a try.
Nice to see family helping. Enjoyed the video😊😊
Looks beautiful!
Yes you did know the secret bout taking off oven doors. Lolol now taking a door apart, this was a first for me. I love learning new tricks. 🎉thanks for sharing hon 🥰💕🥳
Something I use to get off the burnt on goo, a pumice scouring stick, you just use water and a little elbow grease, works awesome!
@@ABeautifulMessExtremeCle-zl1wpI do as you have, only will put vinegar on and let it sit awhile then scrub. Use brillo pad and scraper for tough spots...think Brillo pads are 0000 fine steel wool...Great job, I may get brave enough to take our oven door apart and clean perhaps. Ty! ❤
I just found your channel and am enjoying watching the cleaning process in these homes. I didn't know that about the foil in the oven 😮. I'll be taking it out of mine 😊
My oven needs a clean desperately! I have used a nice paste of Baking soda and water, it works incredibly well! But I caved in and got some oven cleaner! With bad knees and spine, I find it hard to get down on the ground. I had a look at the door, nope this one doesn't come off! Ooh, I love combining lemon juice in the bottle with baking soda, I LOVE the FIZZ!
I've done that before with lemon juice and baking soda to get hard water off. It looks good enough to eat when it fizzes up like that!
some doors don't have clips, but you can open them part way and pull up, the hinge stays on the oven part. just try not to hit the hinge and slam it shut while you're working, or you will have to pry it out 😊.
A kitchen (where we cook foods that smell) seems to be a strange place to keep a pet that sensitive to smells 😊
Sorry, should have specified, sensitive to strong chemical smells.
Birds' lungs can't handle a lot of stuff, not even certain non-stick pans and not a lot of cleaning products. That's where canary in a coal mine comes from, they would die if there was a gas leak so everyone knew to get out.
A job well done. ❤
I wish I could clean with you. So fun
The stove and oven looks so clean. Thank you for showing how to take apart the oven door
Have been waiting for this video and was not disappointed. What a wonderful service you give to the less fortunate. Mira so very sorry about your little dog. Hope the beautiful kitchen cleean will help you get through your tough time. Cant wait to see your new table and chairs. ❤
I took apart my oven door to clean the glass. When I took all the screws out the oven door made a big pop of air noise. Had to call a appliance repair in. He said the new ovens have a air seal on the door for energy efficiency. Don't do it. My oven never worked the same. The outside would get so hot. I had to get a new one.
Sorry to hear that. I suspect if it has an air seal on it it probably doesn't get dirty between the windows. So, I think it's safe to say that, if there is stuff in between the windows, there is not an air seal, otherwise the stuff couldn't get in there. But that is good to know. I haven't run across this yet.
I thought the stripes on that towel were on the window😂😂why isn’t she getting those off😂😂
wow what a good job....I use a wonderfull mix Limpiador casero of naturalmente lola and the other one
Dulce Y Natural dish soap for acero inoxidable and aluminio
I didn't know that putting foil on the bottom of the oven could warp it like that. But I did read the manual for my oven and it warns against it because it can block some part of the venting system. One time I tried to put some foil down, and the oven actually got way hotter inside than the set temperature, so I took it out. But I know you can buy those foil pans intended for oven bottoms. I guess they're bad. But I pretty much ALWAYS have a dirty oven bottom because I only clean mine about once a year simply because I also hate the smell of oven cleaner, and especially the stink of running an oven after it's been cleaned. Yes, I know there's a "clean" setting that burns the crud out of it, but that stinks even worse! The house can smell for days.
I literally just answered a question about why I don't use the self cleaning feature on these ovens that I clean and, you nailed it! Even though the oven cleaner has its own drawbacks with the smell, it is so much better than the smell of the burning off all of that gunk!! It gives me an instant headache and makes my blood pressure rise. I don't know why, but that is one of the smells that just angers me. 😡😊I know that's probably a little extreme, but I cannot handle it. I'm much happier just scrubbing it out. And, yes, there is that little bit of after clean smell when you turn it on the first time, but it burns off pretty quick. There is my rant about the self-cleaning feature, not that you asked for it.. lol!🤣
I didn’t know that bout the smell from self cleaning ovens. wow interesting. I grew up cleaning not cooking lolol also seen something bout the purpose of the shiny side and dull side of foil. Of course I don’t remember. I’d have to google it. 🥳🥰 oven looked freaking amazing 🎉
This is the 2nd video I have watched of your extreme cleaning. You and your videos are inspiring me to try cleaning our oven. Having the door in the way has stopped me for several years due to mobility issues & chronic recurring migraines making me highly sensitive to strong chemical smells. I’m going to show this to my 21 year old son & have him help me. Thank you for sharing this great cleaning hack!
@@Gardencook5 Oh good! I'm glad you're going to try it. Good luck!
I can't stand oven cleaner smells or even the ones that say no fumes they all stink. I'm going to use your method. Thanks
Oven! My new oven says not to use foil... so I put a rack on the lowest setting with foil on that!
I love learning how to clean without chemicals. It's one step closer to cleaning green, as chemicals are toxic for our homes and the environment. Researching cleaning agents can reveal some brands to be linked to cancer, poor lung health, and can contribute to psychological disorders such as autism and dementia.
However I do understand the need to use chemical-cleaning for severe situations and faster cleaning as time isn't always on our side so quick cleaning is a necessity.
I agree, it would be ideal if we could always clean without the strong chemicals, but there are some situations that call for those stronger ones. I think, once you get on top of the really severe grime, you could probably get away with using something more green to clean with.
Nice. You shoot repost it or something near thanksgiving time. Or do a New one. A few weeks behoren. So if they mess up and get it not bsvk together then they have time gor a repair person. Learned a lot today. Thanks.
Great idea! I'm not totally sure how to repost something or if that's even possible, but I'm guessing people will probably be looking up more videos around Thanksgiving time on how to clean their ovens.
Thanks for the video now I can clean my stove Its the same as mine.
Gloves should be used at all times.
I got the scrapers you have listed but I don't have really anything to currently use them on. I'm going to have to go around asking strangers if they need their oven cleaned!
Hahaha! Yeah, I will order new cleaning stuff and want to use it immediately, but don't always have a place to use it right away. The struggle is real!!😂
If they use a silicone oven liner for the bottom that would work…speaking of work you got a heck of a workout 😊
Thanks for the tip! I didn't know those existed. And yes, this is my new workout routine...just cleaning houses!
It’s also important to know that if you take the oven door apart and you have any problems in the future the manufacturer can not cover the warranty but for the oven door specifically and only. Also if you’re oven is self cleaning never use oven cleaner on it
❤
You should be able to use a metal scourer on the bottom of the oven and it should scratch because of the coating in the oven 😊
Did you mean "shouldn't scratch?" If so, I actually did use a metal scourer on it, but it didn't do anything. The enamel was all chipped off, unfortunately. 😔 I wish I could have done more for it. 🤷♀️
@@ABeautifulMessExtremeCle-zl1wp yes I did mean shouldn't 😂 sorry that's my mistake, I thought it was just a normal sponge that you used on the inside.
It might be stuck forever 🙈
@@lozzy8821 LOL! No problem. I figured that's what you meant. Yes, it was a Steel Scour Daddy that I used.
/This video was so helpful. Thank You. Question: how do you clean the oven racks? I have just ordered some of the products you use using your Amazon link. I already bought the Super Clean (used your link) de-greaser and it works very well. I look forward to your reply.
I use either a Degreaser like super clean or an oven cleaner, spray the racks, let them sit for as long as I can and then I use some kind of scrubby sponge like a scour Daddy or a grill brush to scrub all the burned on stuff off. I always forget to actually film the cleaning of the racks. Thank you for using the Amazon links!❤️❤️👍
Can you really use a sharp scraper tool on the enamel without damaging it?
I have never had a problem with it scratching. It's pretty tough stuff. I have cleaned at least 15 ovens using a razor scraper, and it's never scratched it. That's not to say it couldn't, but I've never seen it happen.
Great job!!
I bet they used the self cleaning function with the tin foil still in there. 😬
🎉
I don't know because I have not used it. I have seen it in the store. Fume free oven cleaner. Any thoughts?
I really like the fume free oven cleaner that Easy Off makes. That's what I used in Mira's kitchen. If you haven't seen that video on my channel, it's basically the messiest kitchen I have ever cleaned, and I used the fume free cleaner in that situation and it worked amazingly well.
Won't it come off easier if you wet the rag??
I'm not sure at which part of the cleaning you are talking about. I usually start with a dry rag just to wipe up the "sudes" and then rinse it out so it's wet. So, it's really just that first wipe down that I don't have it wet. 😊
Could you have brought the door outside and sprayed it with over cleaner? Or moved the parrot somewhere else?
I could have, but I also took this as a challenge to clean an oven without oven cleaner.😁 I was pretty impressed/surprised with how well it worked!
hi, why are you using different types of gloves and why don't you wear them from the beginning?
My hands get really sweaty in gloves, so I change them often. Also, sometimes they just need a break from the gloves! 😊
❤
You're so brave to take the oven door apart like that. There is some crud between the pieces of glass in my oven door that I can only clean by taking the door apart and I've been afraid to do it for fear I wouldn't be able to put it back together. After watching you do it, I'm thinking about trying to do mine. Thanks for sharing all of your cleaning tips and for helping out this homeowner. The oven looks fantastic!!!
Yeah, I think everyone gets that crud in between the windows and it keeps it from looking truly clean. Go ahead and try taking it apart. It's actually pretty easy as long as you don't lose the screws and just keep track of where the screws came from become some of them are longer than others. It's not too hard to figure out where they go back in though. Plus, it's just easier to clean the door at counter height rather than bending over or sitting on your knees to do it. Good luck!
Word or warning not all oven doors are the same, hubby took one apart that had so many pieces in it he was amazed he got it back together.
