In this video I let my TBR wheel decide what types of books I'm going to try and read this month :)
This wheel is a D.I.Y work in progress so do give me some feedback as to whether you enjoyed this video and I'll give the wheel a re-design!
As per usual it's rather ambitious but a girl can dream....

That wheel is awesome! What you should do is replace each challenge with a new challenge every time it lands on it, maybe have a bunch of them on rotation!

I stumbled across this video a couple of days ago, and loved it. Subscibed, and now working my way through all your videos. I can't believe how alike our reading tastes are!! And can I just say, I also love how real and down to earth you are. Like, hello, yes, we can't just be all out there buying all the new hardbacks on the day they come out. I too am always at my local thrift shops (or charity shops, as you say!) So excited to watch all your videos, Codie :)

I love this concept for picking your TBR!! Originally I thought you’d be spinning the wheel and landing on specific books but this idea works so well because you get a moderate amount of choice. I also love books and lala and I think your rules inspired by her were a nice touch :)

I love innovation for the purpose of challenging ourselves! I just found your channel through Rachael Marie Book Junkie's ASOIAF readalong announcement. My ears perked up when she mentioned Wheel of Fortune TBR. I did something similar to pick books for Lalathon. I used a digital wheel and only added titles. I LOVE how you've split yours up into categories. That's also some A+ crafting. Happy to have found your channel. I've subscribed and look forward to checking out more of your videos.
Thank you so much! I’m so glad you found me :) yeah I’ve been doing wheel TBR’s for the last 4 or so months now and I’m really enjoying filming them! I was going to do simply titles at first but I felt the prompts gave me a bit more choice which I always like- I’m not great at reading books I pick from say a tbr jar haha :)

Things that were hilarious about this video:
1. The music that you edited in whenever the wheel was spinning.
2. The "twitter pick" and "TBR teapot" wedges on the wheel. (One of the wedges should definitely just make you get out another wheel.) 😂

I love the wheel so much I even thought of making one myself just for my own amusement! I don't think you need to buy one from amazon, this does the job perfectly.

I really liked this :) . I have a the star jar myself but I almost never choose anything from it because I find extremely specific reading requirements to be stifling. I like that this method allows you to choose your own books while still ensuring variety in the picks. And I always love when there is an added unhaul element.
For a series more similar to the closet unhaul, I love Balancing the Books by Drinking By My Shelf. Here the creator is being very strict where she has to have read/be reading/dnfed five more books every month than what she has acquired. If she is below this number then she has to unhaul books on her tbr shelf to get the number down. She's a brave lady.

This is a really cute idea. I like the concept, since it's like a tbr jar but with more options to fit your mood.
All My Friends Are Superheroes is one of my FAVOURITE books. I've read it two years ago and I stiil constantly think about it. It's absolutely brilliant and beautiful. I hope you enjoy it. I have since read more by this author and can also absolutely recommend The Waterproof Bible.

A fun way to pick your TBR! I did enjoy the novel "The Virgin Suicides" but it was one of those where the move was better than the book to me.

You should definitely read three dark crowns! It's so good and the last in the trilogy comes out this week. Completely worth it.

How do you get the wheel to spin I can’t seem to do it
It took quite a bit of time but I managed to secure it to my shelves with a nail and made sure there was enough room between the two for it to spin! I hope this helps! :)

I think that's stupid to use a wheel if you are actually going to choose a book from every category. Just saying.
I totally understand! I’m just not a fan of tbr jars as I find them to be too restrictive so I liked having a choice but also a requirement such as a genre, page count, new author etc :) it kind of feels more like compiling a tbr for a readathon where there’s more choice yet it’s still a challenge. This will end up being more restrictive over time though as my options for each category lessens and I’ll be adding different challenges as I go on which will be more restrictive in picking particular books! If you have any suggestions or feedback on how I can make this more challenging or interesting- please let me know :)
@@CodiesBookCorner OMG ❤️ I didn't thought you'd reply, thank you for considering my opinion. You could make this wheel more practical by simply doing only few rounds rather than all of them (sorry I'm not an English speaker so I have trouble explaining myself) for example you could turn the wheel only 4 times. That would leave you the time to read some other books that you choose depending on your mood.
That's just my pov, at the end of the day you do what suits you 😊 and we'll always appreciate your content.
Why of course :) I appreciate any feedback and suggestions! I’ve been thinking about doing something similar! I was thinking some of the sections could pertain to just one book to make it more challenging :) such as highest rated/lowest rated and have a mini wheel with only books on there rather than categories, but it’s a work in progress so I’ll be changing things up every month to see what works best :) plus my average reading is usually around 17 books a month/ which is kind of crazy so if that stays the same I can hopefully try and add more if my reading mood changes 😂 thank you so much! And of course let me know in the future if you have any more ideas 💕
