@@davengaelsimpson4437 plot twist if only the guy with the spears for cook islands came running in and speared some cunt would of made it the most memorable haka
My father is from Manihiki as was all of his family, whilst my mother and her side are all Maltese/Italian. I had to grow up in a Italian town in Australia, didnt get to see or have much Cook Islander culture around me. Was awesome looking at some comments of others proud to be Cook Islander. Was incredible to see a Cook Island Haka.
The Rarotongans and the Maori are so closely related that the indigenous languages share many similarities. I salute the Raros for challenging the haka as this is how it should be. Most other nations cannot respond to the haka because there is no depth of cultural protocol in which to respond. The best the Aussies can do is "Waltzing Matilda" - a folk song about a sheep thief. The English "swing low" while at least the South Africans have Nkosi sikelel' iAfrika. Ka Pai Maori.
i saw this on cook islands tv when i was travelling bout 3 years ago and they had the prodigy "spitfire" in the back ground as a tv ad and ive been looking for it on you tube since then you have no idea how happy i am right now !!!! some very tough guys in that vid
Maori team must of thought Kuki team were soft , but like Roy Jones said “Y’all must have forgot” Kuki enforcer Ty Pau #Wesside #Hendo South #Valley Boyz 💪🏾👊🏾💯
no but the cooks have the closest polynesian language to Maori some Maori and Cooks have the same Tupuna (ancester) called Paikea, all other polynesian languages have similar words and have ancestral connections
this is what happens when to proud cultures are up against each other, but whakapapa or genealogy say that cook islanders are our tuakana........ and i myself acknowledge that not saying that everyone should because everybody has a right to there own opinion.

Yes this was the one where the Cook Islands won by about 18 points margin but had drawn the series. well first time for everything when it comes to having a fight over a haka before the game even started, yes i saw this in Napier. One thing is for sure Cook Islanders maybe small in statue generally speaking in comparison with Samoans and Tongans, but man they are Fast and strong dudes when it comes to the crunch and No they are Not intimidated by the most ferocious of Hakas, they want to scrap
The southern hemisphere rugby players are on a different level compared to those of the northern (tradition wise). It is a shame New-Zealand have not won a World Cup in over 16 odd years??? Maybe skill wise they are now falling behind their northern opponents. I would love to see the Abor's, Maori's, cookies face Munster in Thormand Park in Éire. That would just take club football to a differenthigher level.
Is it me.....or is there just no AUDIO!!! Dang it!! I love to watch these HAKA's with some SOUND please and this looked like and very interesting one, too!!!
it's a huge challenge for any team who challenges the maori united as one cause they'll give anyone a good go, thats why if the cook islands want to improve themselves and become world beaters without facing big international sides they should just keep having games against the maoris which will make them a world class team
Lmao hes the one who started it, he shouldnt have started it while the kukis were still doing their pe'e. Thats very disrespectful. Yes the kukis got in their face, but thats how these war dances work, you intimidate your opponent. He retaliated in something that both teams are doing, DISRESPECTFUL.
This is a great reply here... purbanegoro, these are things i've learned through my studies in anthropology and human migration. Set these fools straight! Props to this from the states!
Cooklslanders are the tuakana of the Maoris .. meaning that we as Cookies are their older brother... we are the original (Maoris) *Cooklslanders* ..they are off spring of us
I agree too..l hate it when some of us mock our cook island cuzzies..I have always known they were part of us..we even look the same ...our waka stopped there for a while some hopped off and stayed and the rest carried on to Aotearoa.
@ralphyboy1 Malaysian Archipelago, and before that what is now Taiwan. Pretty crazy that the people of such a little place spread so far out in the world. Even Madagascar.
Bro it shouldn't be forgotten that a war dance or cry is done before battle so a fight between the two culturally immersed sides should've been expected considering the passion and pride held in regards to there respective jersey...pretty intense lol
pacific island people including maori were outcast from asia it was pretty much make boats and leave or b killd so that was us across the southern oceans along the journey we stopd at hawaikii of course some people didn't make it but the strong and eager ones did and after a while one man Andre Akarana Toma paikia who was a stubborn and competitive young chief who had claimed to call himself a Maori. Because of this it divided the island and Andre had a dream of a place that was beautiful and green with the freshest water streams and that was the land of the long white cloud so he set him and his people onward further south deeper in the southern oceans as he lead his people some just could not take the power of the rapid oceans this is why people ended up on samoa and tonga and cook islands because the oceans veered them off track we the maori made it to NZ Aotearoa that's what makes us the great MAORI warriors F.T.W feed the whanau
rugby league and union seperated in the late 1800's. there are many differences, the main being that rugby league is played with 13 compared with union's 15. There are no rucks or lineouts in league, after 6 tackles the ball is turned over to the other team and the scrums are uncontested
Yes,England if they had sent down the entire fleet wouldve "eventually" won, but,if they did that as said before,it would open them up for attacks from their neighbours. The ones they did send however were beaten considering the technology/man and gun power the brits had.
Cook island is a country of its own, also known as Rarotonga. Polynesia is made up of many islands including Hawaii, Samoa, Tonga, Aotearoa (New Zealand) Niue, Tuvalu, Rapanui and many others not mentioned. The people of these Islands are collectively known as Polynesians.

It was just one of them who got overexcited. They shouldn't have gotten that close to each other. Anyway, I love to watch the Haka! Keep doing it!!
You forgot England, former world champions and world finalists twice in a row.
Thank you.
Actually, the Cook Islands was part of a migratory route. Maori tribes have traveled to many parts of the world.
