  • The Supreme Court Friday stayed the Allahabad High Court order which had declared the Uttar Pradesh Board of Madarsa Education Act, 2004, “unconstitutional” on the ground that it violated “the principle of secularism”.
Apoorva Mandhani explains what the law says and why SC has stayed the high court verdict.

Disagree with Supreme court ... UP Government should amend the Act ... No taxpayer rupee should go to support religious study of a single religion and in general schools should be geared towards bread winning education.

the study material itself is only for spreading hate and contempt and enmity for Majority and other non believers of the Nation under the garb of Religious freedom , we as a majority have the onus to fu** these ideologically biased and compromised, corrupt ba** sitting on such echelons of power but misusing their power and imposing their absurd ideas to keep running their anti Bharat ,anti Hindu agenda ,this can not be allowed to continue at any cost now ,under the garb of secularism or religious freedom

Disagree with SC judgement. No affluent Muslim leader would make his child study in a Madrassahs. Why should tax payers money be given for salaries of Islamic Clerics?

Completely disagree with supreme court and in fact SC has done dis-service to the community itself. UP government needs to amend the act as previous governement made it for votes.

Madrassa shouldn't be allowed, Hindus gave up Gurukul for secularism already. It's a two way street not one way. Hindus should realise this secularism is just a one way stuff right now, we need caa and ban of madrassa.

Biased and woke SC. Does govt. fund the hindu religious education that manu singvi quoted. Why should govt. fund teaching of religious text as the primary thing. The govt is also not putting a strong rebuttal to this because its election time.

Madrasa Curriculam:::>Arabic: Arabic language - vocabulary, grammar and all that.
Belief (Aqaid): The study of Islamic beliefs.
Character (Akhlaq): How Muslims are supposed to behave
History (Tariq): Should have been called mythology
Practice (Fiqh): Islamic rituals and law
Memorisation (Hifdh): Memorise parts of the quran.
Recitation (Tajweed): Recitation of the Quran in Arabic
Interpretation (Tafsir): Translation and explanation of the Quran.
Hadith: Statements from and about Muhammad.
Gurukul curriculum : Astronomy, mathematics, darshan (philosophy), arthashastra(economics & political science combined), and Logic(Nyaya) of Kapila, Dhanurveda(study of warfare), etc. The Gurukul system is thousand times better. Madaras can turn a boy to a butcher while gurkul will make him a doctor

As per Vyadha Gita butchers have the highest knowledge. You ought to be a good butcher before a good doctor. Your argument that Gurukul is better than Madaras may be true but also arrogant. The last statement is illogical and also remember historically people of Gurukul failed to stop the Islamic invasion and destruction.

@@vinsin328 Islam was only able to enter Bharat in 12th century. For nearly 500 years our Kings kept those barbarians out of Bharat(barring few raids) at the time when Islam spread like wildfire in whole West Asia & even Central Asia within Decades of its inception.
& Islam was able to enter able with Mohd Gauri due to our own 'Too much Humanity' only.
Only if Raja Pruthiviraj Chuahan weren't so generous to Let Go Gauri after defeating Gauri Bharat wld hv been a much more Prosperous & Developed Nation.

Madrassas is anachronistic and SC should not try to be anachronistic too.

  • @prohind

Here I disagree with SC. Madarasa's are mainly to teach Quran and Islam. Muslim Children are deprived of secular environment from very childhood and the result is the Madarasa products don't mix with mainstream students. The state must ensure secular education to all students. The agrument of teaching Sanskrit and Gurukuls is also faulty. Sankrit is taught in most of the coutries today not as a Hindu language but as a source of knowledge. Also teachings in Gurukul is secular unlike the Madarsas. I hope SC will futher hear the arguments and decide to provide secular education to Muslim students. There should only be normal schools and all madarasas should be closed.

The modern century demands that everyone be treated equally. If every citizen need not be equal and minorities have special rights and privileges and have to be granted first right to resources, let there be the Hindu Act, Jain Act, Buddhism Act, and Sikh Act for teaching similar subjects in respective religious schools. Religious dress should be encouraged in other religious schools. Only women are allowed Home Science which is not a primitive thought. So the same standard should be maintained. CNA TV and UK-based TV media have started broadcasting programs that highlight issues faced by the society and minorities in Indonesia, the UK, Europe, and Malaysia, associated with Islamic youth becoming orthodox
