  • This video describes how to setup a wireless microphone system. In this case it is the WMS40 by AKG, which provides two transmitters, so two channels can be used simultaneously. The two channels have separate outputs on the back of the receiver unit.
This video only shows the second channel in use.
As a microphone I am using the C417L by AKG, which is a cavalier microphone.

Is it possible to plug in non-AKG Mics to the PT40?

Hey, great video. Just a quick question. If I purchased a 6.3 mm to 3.5 mm jack and connected it directly from the receiver to my pc, would that work ? Or do I need a preamp/ mixer to record properly ? Thanks in advance.

How is the audio quality? Do you have a sound sample? How far away does this work?

It seems you didn’t watch the video.
It worked from over 300ft away from the base.

i have the dual microphone version, im looking to buy the dual guitar version too so i can use it for on-the-floor gigs without a stage, but i looked at the frequencies for my mics and compared them to the frequencies of the dual guitar version and both channel's respective frequencies were the same. if i get this, will the signals from each unit overlap? will i end up with guitar coming through both guitar and vocal receivers? id like the same version - its cheap, it works, and it will safeguard against elecric shocks, and it will save trailing cables, but i just dont want to purchase this and it to cross talk with each other's receiver

      Hi,
you have to make sure the mics and receivers operate on different frequencies. Otherwise it will cause issues, as you mentioned.

This system uses microphones with mini XLR connectors. For example like this one: amzn.to/37T4lyV

Hi, each mic has its own output channel. So you would need two cables in order to use both of them.

How could you being using this wireless system to make the video? Do you have a second one? The last seconds of the video sounds different and with background noise. Why? I'm really interested on knowing how this really works since it's very cheap. Thanks

The audio track was added to the video during post production. That’s how I could first film the video and create the audio track later on.

Hello, it would require a different device to connect these Mics to a MacBook.

Does it work for active pickups?

I’m not familiar with active pickups.
If I remember right, there is 4.5Volts on the 3rd pin of the mini-XLR. Not sure if that is sufficient.
