Shiseido is a very old company, having been founded over 150 years ago. As far as I know, it is one of the oldest major cosmetics manufacturers in the world, second only to Guerlain. It has long enjoyed overwhelming trust and immense popularity among the wealthy in Asia, particularly in China. I believe it started becoming gradually known in the West after the year 2000, but what do you think?

Shiseido（kanji 資生堂） is one of the four major cosmetics manufacturers in Japan, and was founded in September 1872 by Fukuhara Arinobu as Shiseido Pharmacy in Ginza, a famous shopping district for the wealthy in Tokyo. Since then, it has become a long-established Japanese cosmetics store that operates in over 180 countries and regions around the world. Representative cosmetics brands include Shiseido, Maquillage, and IPSA. The other three are Kao, Kose, and Pola.
