    In this tutorial, I’m going to introduce you to Honeybee! Honeybee is a tool developed by Ladybug Tools that allow us to create and visualize daylight simulations using Radiance, energy models using Energy Plus and Open Studio applications.
    This tool is one of the most comprehensive plugins available for environmental design and today, we’re going to try to take a closer look at it and see what it’s capable of. This tutorial is going to cover the very basics and show the concept behind running a Sunlight analysis for a single room over the period of a single year.
    In the extended tutorial, we’re going to see how changing the orientation of the windows and adding various window blinds is going to affect our result. Of course, this all depends on the location that you choose to test out and the Sun path diagram that we created in the previous tutorial on Ladybug tools.

    Thanks so much for this fantastic tutorial! Really helped me out in my final year architecture project.
    Just to offer some constructive feedback: either pan across the screen slowly enough so we get a good view of all the components or actually build the script as the tutorial, would save a lot of pausing and rewinding.
    Plus huge props to luka pavelka in the comments for noting the fix at the end.

    Mistake at 15:18 when you are talking about the Recolor Mesh component and the necessary inputs, you pointed at the wrong source for the "_inputMesh". You pointed at the "UDLI_Less_100" output of the Read Annual Result I. Instead you should've pointed to the "mesh" output of the Generate Zone Test Points component. You were probably misled by the wire that runs right under the "UDLI_Less_100" output so it looks like it connects there, but it goes to the Generate Zone Test Points component.

      Oh, wow, that is what you get when you don't organise your canvas. There definitely should be a plugin out there that avoids this confusion. thank you for your comment!

    Hi! I'm having a problem with the output of the element for adding windows. when i check the output of it with a panel it says "null" because of this I am not getting any test points out of the next componenet eighter. All inputs seem to have valid values. Is there a solution to this?

    Hi, thx, but it's better if u could explain by doing it step by step in gh, I 've followed what u did step by step, even though I correct the "mesh" out put to the "input mesh" which u shows wrong in the video and it takes me a long time to figure out... I still have 2 problems, the component Recolor Mesh yellow bubble shows" 1. length of the results [=1] is not equal to the number of mesh faces [=326] or mesh vertices[=355]." the "Read Annual Result" yellow bubble shows" Major input missing", and I couldn't figure out why T.T.

    I'm having a minor problem, instead of forming on the floor surface the test point grid is forming on the wall where my window surfaces are locate, can this be solved or is there a way to choose the surface I want my grid on?

    Hi. I noticed that the latest version of ladybug tools that I got was different from the one you used in the previous tutorial. Is it the same for this tutorial too? Should we uninstall and get the old version?

    • @HowtoRhino
      @HowtoRhino  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi Munish, no, you don't need to uninstall the newest version, you can have both newest version and previous legacy versions, the installation process is kind of tricky but you have everything explained once you download the installer packages, just go and follow the installation instructions.

    Hi. How can I set the different ground plan? I see now ladybug & honeybee use the rhino default world cplane.
