- Jude Bellingham scored the winner as England beat Serbia 1-0 in Gelsenkirchen, western Germany.
Bellingham was the standout performer coming off the back of a stellar first season at Real Madrid in which he helped lead them to Champions League glory. The 20-year-old's 13th minute goal proved to be the winner.

Weird game. For first 20 minutes England looked like the tournament winners. For the next 70 they looked distinctly average and could quite easily have drawn that game, or worse.

I disagree that we looked like tournament winners for the first 20 minutes. Apart from the outlet of Saka we created very little despite having a lot of possession.

I get it was underwhelming but remember all it’s better to grow into a tournament and hit a purple patch towards the end than peak too soon. We got three points. That’s what counts. Trust that the team and coaches will learn from the match and we push on.
