    The beans and baked potato that you Brits enjoy are what we call in the US "Boston Baked Beans." The South had a slightly different recipe that evolved from the Civil War. Confederates didn't have camp cooks like the Union Army, for the most part, thus they didn't have enough time to bake beans. They quickly boiled a pot of beans with salt and pepper and ate them as they cooled. Beans and grits, as Jimmy Hart prefers, became the predominant Southern dish, while British-style baked beans remain the dominant dish in the North.

    @WrestleMe You should do a video on legend house where they were playing trivia and how Hacksaw and Piper were cheating. One of the Question was what cant ur roommate live without and Piper wrote on his hand Wife , but Hacksaw can’t read that well and thinks it says Life lol. Everyone looking around like what he say. Pat Patterson says what can’t u live with Life lmao that was hilarious. Then Piper being honest Piper tells the rest of Legends how he wrote it out on his hand and Hacksaw still got it wrong lol. The "nothing to play with" and "mom didn't breastfeed" jokes are literally just Rodney Dangerfield punchlines. Like many Rodney jokes, they are surprisingly harsh, and self-deprecation is maybe the only way for most audiences to appreciate the cleverness of the joke rather than getting caught up in "holy shit that's mean".

    • @KomradeKrusher
      @KomradeKrusher Před rokem +5

      But that's the thing, Dangerfield talked in character about "himself" and not about others. I still think the guys read a bit much into it, those are all entertainment professionals who ribbed the shit out of each other for decades, but especially guys like Finkle and Ockerlund still got all the respect in the world as professionals.

    • @cutekanjii
      @cutekanjii Před rokem +4

      A lot of the time the victims end up identifying with the abuser especialy if it's a relative. And within an enviorment where the abuse is normalised & those around it don't care or do anything about it. Or like in Roddy's case since he never had a family when a teenager and got involved in wrestling at such a young age that people like patterson became a surrogate family to him.

    • @Bale4Bond
      @Bale4Bond Před rokem +4

      @@cutekanjii thanks, Dr. Freud.

      There was no bond whatsoever.

    • @cutekanjii
      @cutekanjii Před rokem +1

      @@Bale4Bond ok Dr dumbo, I think it's obvious i'm talking about when he was a kid and around these guys at the time Pat Patterson & Lord Afred Hayes etc were doing the "ribs" on him when he was 15 16 17 etc. If your that age and no parents around you look at these older guys as family especialy when u are trying to emulate & be like. I have known of situations of abused kids who looked up to the foster parent/carer or the older adults wherever it was they were even if they were being abused by them.
      When your that age & have not really got any other frame of reference to compare it to you just assume its normal. Or even it mean you are special if they do it to you but not your brothers & sisters or peers.

    • @hahajones
      @hahajones Před 7 měsíci

      Nonsense. I saw the interview with Sean Oliver that you are referring to, and Piper eluded to something odd, that being Patterson’s homosexuality and his alleged interest in younger men/boys (see Ring-Boy Scandal of the 1980s).
      Fact is, Piper never worked around Patterson or Hayes until he was in his 20s, as he worked in Canada when in his teens. Piper later, before his death, VEHEMENTLY denied this rumor and nearly threatened the interviewer, claiming he would’ve killed someone for that.
      Piper was talking about being a father, a dad first, and he was alluding to Patterson’s alleged involvement, but stopped short of saying anything which made people think he was talking about himself.
      Christ, you people are morons…

      I know a few guys where that's absolutely true. My dad wouldn't eat if it weren't for microwavable ready meals.
      Back then you didn't even get home ec at school if you were a bloke and it was assumed that your mum or your wife would make your food. These guys probably always ate out or had their wife cook.
