The thing that really surprises me is just how calling it a one party system means that even otherwise analytical observers fail to see how Cuba has one of the most democratic systems on the planet, where the average Cuban has many more opportunities to influence policy and participate in government than the majority of Americans, even if the Communist Party is the only Party. Almost like when the goal of the party is empowering the proletariat to make their own decisions, the idea of a Party kind of withers away
It’s crazy how Americans don’t also see that we have basically a one party system, you have the choice to pick between two different parties but they share the same interests from corporate entities, only difference between them is who they decide to pander to for their vote, how can we seriously be so blind to call the U.S. democratic?
The fact that the people get put first in the ideology is why the US demonizes it and countries that do it. It was the same when Russia was new and it put the people in the driver's seat. A bunch of countries that were warring against each other joined forces and attacked Russia in order to overthrow their government. Same with why North Korea gets demonized. Same why Libya got "liberated" now they are a mess. Same with Chile getting attacked when they elected someone who would put the people first.

As a Canadian, I've travelled to Cuba a lot on vacation. My grandmother was big on taking time off resort to visit the locals, usually with bags of Manufactured luxury goods for her friends she made since the embargo first started. The biggest takeaway as a kid was that, despite less material wealth (Older technology like Video games and clothing styles) and less access to those things, but there was very few actually "poor" people by our standard, in that most are clothed, housed, fed and have opportunities for fair work. Contrast that to watching homeless people literally freeze to death each winter and it was hard to see how Cuba and Communism was "evil" as America liked to say
--- CORRECT, BECAUSE . . . those racist lies are for the consumption of the racist, anti-Communist cohort of U.S. society.
Is the Capitalist system working as intended.
It's clear that letting people starve or freeze on the streets is a choice.
The stick the Capitalists use to discipline workers, give them fear of homelessness to keep people doing things they hate.
And the system has brainwashed most into accepting this situation without a second thought: that if you don't have economic output of some sort you don't actually have Human Rights. All in supposedly democratic countries.
Your auto correct is based lol
Our government doesn't allow us to travel to see that because it's bad pr we'd see the truth if we were allowed to leave to see Cuba with our own eyes.
The reason America demonized Communism and Socialism is because they are a power-hungry, profit-worshiping country with a greedy ruling class that wants to keep the workers in the dark that they are being exploited and kept at the mercy of the employers in order to run their cash-cows and be paid as little as possible. Communism and Socialism would put the WORKER'S FIRST! Heaven forbid the people and workers are in the driver's seat because that would mean that the means of production would belong to the workers and everyday people (aka the ones who "get out and push the train" daily). The American people have been brainwashed to hate any system that would put them first and out from under the oppressive regime that only cares about padding it's own pockets and exercising it's iron fist of power. America is not a free country, it's only "free" for those who have money.

@@rickyspanish4792 In my original comment I got the number wrong lol
Any American that utters the word "Cuba" should know these fundamentals before they can expect to be treated like a competent person when referencing it in any kind of political discussion
I would require the watching of this video by law if I were made president. If I don't get assassinated by the CIA first, that is.
The Soviets didn't watch 60 minutes. They watched hOUR.
Thank you to all comrades for the likes.
For clarification I mean hour as in h-OUR our, that's the meme.
Heh
Cringe
I likda get the joke but it has the same energy as "every 60 seconds a minute passes"
Wake up babe! new hakim video dropped
Badum tsss
I support the working people in Cuba, North Korea, Vietnam, Belarus, China, Australia, Japan, India, USA, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Canada, Poland, Portugal, Sweden, and the UK to overthrow their ruling classes. The only way to achieve a civilised world is to change the world's economic and social system known as capitalism. Wars, corruption, exploitation, misery, homelessness, chaos are inherent features of the profit/capitalist system.
That's not compatible with the real world. Most of the European countries you mentioned don't want Cuban-style socialism.
Most of those countries are capitalist😂
They are all capitalist countries. There aren't any communist/Marxist countries on planet Earth.
I wasn't saying they do. Cuba is not a socialist country. Cuba is certainly not a Marxist/communist country. Cuba is a state capitalist regime.
imagine thinking that japan and spain even have a right to exist
fun fact the United States almost annex Cuba in 1898 but the Teller Amendment prevented that from happening
Cuba also provides better LGBT rights than many places in America, or their dogs like poland or Latvia.
Might dislike the government but you do have a point. LGBT is easier to do in Cuba than in America
It's really sad to see such things happen and not being able to help
Right? It feels like a war, only our side is just getting punched in the face.
After this one you gotta do Puerto Rico because:
1. Watch the Americans seething because you call it a country.
2. Sister nation to Cuba so similar story and even same struggle.
3. People understate how much PR hates the US just because they are stuck as a colony
I mean, i definitely do want PR to become a state, and if i had the ability to do so i would do it. I think it needs some popular support to be pushed.
I don't.
¡Independencia para Borinquen!
Make this a series
Make this a series!
Make this a series!!!
It would be a long series. Probably 195 entries if I'm being honest.
@@jakekaywell5972
hey.. gotta get food on that Iraqi table - somehow!!! ;)
This bout to be a goated series.
We went to Cuba from Canada, on vacation, several! years ago. During that trip, we had a visit to Havana, for the express purpose of supporting the Cuban people. There, we saw first-hand how resourceful the Cuban people were, and are today. We'd do it all again! More power to them!
Yess new hakim vid
Hahahaha I love that "hellooOoOoOo" in the beginning xD
Long live SOCIALIST Cuba!
"The CIA carefully outlined plans to excuse a hostile takeover"
Me: [unsurprised in Brazilian]

This is going to be great series. I'm already looking forward to the next episode. I'm happy that I landed on this side of the algorithm.
I love that Cuba stood up. Shining light for the entire world
Absolutely amazing video Comrade! I hope you turn this into an ongoing series
Looking forward to watching this tonight!
For anyone interested, the podcast Blowback has a great season on the Cuban Missile Crisis and the way this whole debacle was erased from US memory. They supplement their recounting of events with both interviews with people who were in Cuba at the time, as well as a lot of clips from US mainstream media, so it becomes really obvious how the media and state apparatuses manufactured popular consent.
Blowback rocks, essential listening.
Hakim is one of few people i will watch ads for on CZcams, even if i don't use the product
If you're talking about his ad read it doesn't matter, they can't see if you skip it or not. The only ad that he actually benefits from you watching is the CZcams ads.
Communists should be ad free.
Hell yeah! This looks like a GREAT series to help deprogram more Americans.
This looks to be a fun series
A communist creator from Brazil called Ian Neves (História Pública) has a segment called "Why we hate ______" and he makes vídeos about historical figures like Thatcher, Pinochet, etc...
This series is a GREAT idea. This is something that you can show people who are afraid of socialism because it frames it in a way of why a particular country doesn't like the US. It seems like it'll be a useful series to introduce people to start thinking "maybe the US aren't actually the good guys". Great job Hakim
Healthcare in Cuba is almost for free, in the USA there are millions of people that are homeless and have no healthcare. Unbelieveble when you realize that Cuba is blocaded by the VS for more than 60 years. Other countries may not trade with Cuba
100% taxes it not free idiot
Hell yeah! Been waiting for a video on this subject for a while :)!
An amazing video with an amazing concept! Keep this up
Mashallah daddy Hakim has uploaded
great vid, can't wait for the rest of the series.
Lookıng forward to the rest of the series , will be a long series for sure!
Imagine how long a video called "Why Most Of The World Hates The USA" would be.....
@@istankimjong-unbutcantstan3398a couple of days if he keeps every entry brief. If he goes in-depth...he'll probably spend a week only at the Middle East.
This gonna be a great series
Top stuff! Looking forward to the next video in the series
I just returned from a trip to Cuba that lasted a week. It’s a very poor country yet I feel very safe (almost to the level of China), people are well educated, no beggars or homeless people anywhere. The last few years in particular have been very hard for them so a lot people have to work in tourism to earn foreign cash. It’s a great country that bears the sin of being so close to US 😢 The economic blockade almost strangles any technological developments as well.
The growing increase in violence in Cuba:

This is an incredible idea for a series!
I knew a little bit about the trade embargo. But I learned a lot watching this. Thank you
As a Brazilian I admire the people of Cuba A LOT, and I hope we can follow their example soon.
But I'm also so afraid of what the United States is gonna do to us if we do, as things are, Brazil is basically the US's backyard and our politicians are all doggies working to please the US, most of them are right wing/far right.
And considering how big and rich Brazil is, it's not in the US's best interests to have such a big nation so close by going socialist (yes, Brazil is incredibly rich economically and resourse wise, except all that wealth belongs to a very small part of the Brazilian people.)
Your absolutely right, the US would has likely already planned out your demise if you ever try to free yourselves.
Also keep in mind that America is run solely by corporations, not the American people, although many of the American people are brainwashed already.
They bring the hammer down on Americans who try to free themselves just as hard as foreigners.
Yes mate, our country would suffer with an intervention by the gringos, but our people would have to be brave beyond fear and face the storm in search of a better and fairer future
@@mago12654 rest assured you would have at least some American support, although we have no influence short of an outright revolution.
the cuban revolutionaries must be among the proudest people to have ever walked the earth.
Great idea for a series!
Absolute banger, Hakim. I’m really hype for this series.
Always a good day with a new hakim video!

Next episode of this series, please do Iran and Iraq please!
im iraqi and i hate usa
Great start to what I guarantee is going to be a fantastic series. Looking forward for more episodes.
Also the importance of the embargo cannot be understated since many people in the West know nothing about it. I remember telling my parents about it’s existence for the first time and they were appalled by it.
Democracy, America's deadliest export.
Please make a video about France and US conflict with Niger and their neocolonialism still affecting Africa today and Africa having the courage to fight back.
I really hope you bring your series home for the final episode
"Whye they hate the US: Native Americans"
Great video, really hits hard to have all of this info combined into the one big summary.
I can’t wait until the next installment comes out! ❤ Thank you Hakim
This is going to be a long running series.
This series has potential. Although many countries will probably need multi part episodes. And I think 95% of the world hates the USA, so I guess this will be concluded at 2050.
i mean most of those countries are probably either (nearly) any country in america south of the us, an african country, or a muslim country.
All of Lat. America and the Caribbean , The Middle East and most of Asia and Africa . And a lot of E. Europe ,Who likes us really the 15 percent of the world in white supremacy inc. in the US/Western Europe and a few other lackeys here and there and yet our " leaders " boast about "the world" is behind us and its always white and western . Everyone will eventually hate you and turn on you when you treat 85 percent of them like sub humans and objects to be used and discarded .
Looking forward to more in this series
Solidarity with Cuba!! 🇨🇺
