Yes definately one should light a lamp in the temple before Naryana with a Sankalp to remove darkness in one’s life. Tamso ma jyotir gamyah

In sankrit it is written as अक्ष्यः so when you add ah it is said as yah which is fine and doesn’t distort the meaning
