For lore I recommend Vaati of course and also Smoughtown who compiled all of his EldenRing videos into 3 parts, each of them being around 10-13 hours long, then there's also Tarnished Archeologist.
Vaati is THE lore man. His "elden ring movies" are so entertaining I learnt 100x more from that than a lot of other "lore channels" since most lore channels feel like studying for a school exam
@@legendary8879 Has an actual trailer with a year come out or is it still "coming soon" because the amount of memes about how dog shit the wait for silksong is is insane lol

@@HANIMEME I wouldn't say the archaeologist is more correct, he just looks more closely and Vaati keeps it pretty general and doesn't like to blare out theories he isn't 100% confident in/has solid proof for, which is fine because the lore is kinda fucked and holey at parts. I've seen the archaeologist be wrong or inaccurate about things because of this.
Lore in elden ring is some of the best fiction out there. - The exposition is so deep, when you start going down the rabbit hole, you will love the genius of it so much more.
For all lore enthusiasts: The DLC takes place in the area that is shrouded in the *shadow* of the Earth Tree. Due to an unknown event (possibly a battle?) the area was cut off from the main world (i.e. the Lands between). This is why it is so dark and all sorts of dark creatures can exist there, apart from the light of the earth tree (such as the worm creatures). The lion-like boss is actually based on ancient Chinese dragon dancers who dance at New Year. The “final boss” is the demigod Messmer. The story revolves around Miquella, who was lost in this very country, the "Shadow Land". The tarnished (the main character) goes in search of Miquella and follows in his footsteps. These very footsteps also replace the places of grace, since it is not Melina who leads us through the world and shows us the way, but rather Miquella. The guy with the two snakes is the demigod Messmer (and therefore also a child of Marika and brother of Malenia and Miquella). The main story probably revolves around the question of why Messmer (the outlawed son) was banished to the Shadow Land and what Miquella wanted in this dark realm. About Messmer himself: It is very likely that Messmer was the one who embodied the snake before Rykard. On the one hand, of course, he has his accompaniments, but the fire is also very reminiscent of Rykard himself. In the lore, even before Radagon's time as the second Eldenlord, the earth tree fought against the serpent. Messmer, as the embodiment of this, is the direct opponent of the Golden Order itself and therefore the ultimate threat to the Earth Tree. So it's quite possible that he is the final boss. Fun fact: This would also clarify which demigod the smoldering butterflies belong to. The golden ones belong to Miquella and those of the rot belong to Malenia. The smoldering ones would therefore belong to Messmer and thus complete the trio of divine butterflies.
Really pissed. The craziest part: this DLC is $40 and the map will be the same size as Elden Ring. So it’s definitely worth it and developers know what they’re doing.
@@seraphimuploads2947 I highly doubt it unless Miyazaki changed his mind later on. It'll definitely be the biggest one we've had, but the man himself said it won't be much bigger than limgrave. Obviously I hope I'm wrong, but for now I think that's cemented.
@@Bevsworld04 I said content, not map size. Content includes bosses, dialogue, the amount of time it would take to get all the equipment, explore the entire map etc. It means that the length of Bloodborne's base campaign and exploration will be equivalent to SOTET.
if we are talking elden ring lore then 100% Vaati. He is literally THE LORE MAN for all souls games. His "elden ring movies" are both entertaining and really informative and I actually feel like I understand the lore rather than watching like an 2 hour long lore vid that feels like a school exam that I am studying for
This is perfect timing for Lud; Smoughtown put out 3 MASSIVE compilation videos of all of his up to date lore in December. To my understanding and viewing, Smough is a well-respected and well-researched lore scholar and collaborates with a lot of other creators to get his clearest view of the big lore points in Elden Ring. For further and more fine-detail-based analysis, Tarnished Archaeologist does some lovely work regarding the physical history of the Lands Between.
Vaati videos will give you all the lore you need. It might take a few watches of each video though, because that man's sultry voice will put you to sleep, in a good way
For the Elden Ring lore thing I would actually love for Ludwig to have Vaati or someone else be in call with him and discuss things more directly and where he has most the questions and intrigue, instead of just sitting there watching a bunch of videos.
So for some lore. Miquella gets "kidnapped" by one of Mogh's subordinates, tho according to some text apparently he LET the dude kidnapper him because the cocoon Mogh uses to try and free Miquella from his curse and finally let him "transform" into a being powerful enough to create their own golden order is Miquella's best shot after the Haligtree womb idea failed. And MAYBE the dude with red hair (according to creator of the game is called Messmer) might be what Miquella turns into and the Miquella at the end of the trailer is either BEFORE transformation OR Miquella's other half (same way as his mom, Milenia, is both herself and her husband, Radagon) St. Trina. That or the dude is just another one of Milenia's bastard children
Miquella is not going to transform into Messmer, he’s not even going to be a boss, he’s an empyrean like Ranni and Malenia, fairly sure he’s going to get his own questline and ending similar to Ranni’s age of stars ending, I don’t know where people got this thought that he would be evil or turn evil but it makes no sense
Nah dude. 1) Mohg is confirmed to have taken him; it's in the opening crawl AND in game they mention Mohg by name and 2) Messmer is confirmed sibling of Miquella and Malenia. It's more like he did a blasphemy and went to the shadow realm.
@@ArdynIzunla he won't get an ending, that is confirmed by Miyazaki himself. And him being malicious and manipulative is hinted at even in the opening line of this trailer.
