When we came celebrate to Helsinki that night, at the same time arrived ship from Estonia and tens of cars came out to the street of Helsinki. Faces inside those cars was priceless.

Canadians have won the championship so extremely many times that it's hard to believe Canadians would anymore go so crazy celebrating victories. Although I don't really have any idea as surely Canada is full of ice hockey fans. Finland hadn't won any medals at all before the 90's, which gives some perspective to how big a deal it's over here.

It was very good, that somebody filmed the nightly chaos in Helsinki just after Finland had won her third ice hockey world championship. The whole country seemed totally different than normally, for a few hours time. An innocent tourist might have been terrified.
I wish that I had done the same 1995 ! This surely soon gets LIKES - like DARUDES SANDSTORM - at the Tuomiokirkkos stairs to Heaven !

What I love about everytime something crazy like this kicks off in Finland, is the feeling of community. I can imagine that for people especially from third world countries massive crowds are actually quite scary. Hockey celebrations in finland is just.... Everyone is going balls to the wall but everyone is happy and everyone is friends with another, for at least this one night. I've never felt in these crowds that my safety or possessions are somehow compromised. The feeling of absolute joy is so mutual.

Crazy! I was in Lisbon when they won the World Cup a couple years ago - completely oblivious to it happening until we were in the midst of it - Awesome to be around for such events!
Not World cup, European cup. I can only imagine. Especially as they lost the final to Greece in 2004(?). It was a long time dream for Portugal.

Everyone talking about Mörkö instead of our goalkeeper Lankinen carried Finland. He had like 100+ saves only during 3 of the last games. Sure Marko was great but so was everyone else too, but Lankinen was the greatest!

Proud to be finn. I watched the game with my spouse and our finnish lapphund Repe, i shouted my voice to pieces and cried and laughed at the same time. Repe was frightened and that's has been the theme of whole tournament and i'm so sorry for the little guy. My spouse understand's still, been together 10 years, these are one of those moments when emotion takes full control. You have great videos and you are great guy, keep up the good work!

Did not watch any GB games..not even Finland as it happened but followed thru Iltalehti news..I think ice hockey the best game in the world..Sreatham where I live did or do have a team but not been to see them..Matti N was also a legend and met him couple of times in Finland where he was practising in Vuokatti.

Like your music choice! It fits to the crazy chaotic carneval mood. People have such buzz inside, they want to party. Yet in that throng you don't always know how :) And them sometime there's a flash of something you will remember long.
Just maybe you could pause or lower the music when you hear the cars honk, shout the engine, or play music - or people shout or sing something.
PS. The title would be better in Finnish like: Suomi voittaa kaiken - then it means 'IT all/the whole (thing)'. (The -n ending says the same like hiM, theM etc.)
The version '... voittaa kaikki' says ...'wins everybody'. Small difference, but this goes more against the other teams, other people.

He he! Nice memories how finnish people surprices all foreigners by this kind of acting. I remember the first time 1995 when i was still 9th grade at school and even tho i lived small city of Kokkola the city center were full chaos and full of people. Couldn´t believe my eyes either then. And our little city is more of a soccer baced than hockey.
After that seeing 2011 Helsinki, 2019 and 2022 Tampere as both places full of hockey fans 😁. This year in Tampere people celebrated firs the Olympic gold (first time), second that Tappara won sm-liiga gold and third time after world championship tournament that playd here in Tampere 😄. It´s been crazy year!
