Interior and Technology
Inside, the C-HR impresses with upscale materials and a driver-focused layout. Most trims feature a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and digital gauge cluster, both offering crisp graphics and quick responses. Physical climate controls are a welcome touch in today's touch-heavy world.
Space is at a premium, however. While front-seat occupants enjoy good accommodations, rear passengers may feel cramped due to limited headroom and small windows. Cargo capacity also trails some boxier competitors.
Safety and Driver Assistance
Toyota loads the C-HR with standard safety tech, including automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keeping assist. Higher trims add even more features like a surround-view camera system and front cross-traffic alert.
Pricing and Value
The C-HR isn't the cheapest option in its class, with prices starting around $31,000 and climbing past $46,000 for loaded plug-in hybrid models. However, its striking design, hybrid efficiency, and generous standard equipment help justify the premium.
Verdict
The 2024 Toyota C-HR doubles down on its strengths, offering head-turning style and impressive fuel economy in a tech-laden package. While it may not be the most practical or engaging choice in the segment, those prioritizing distinctiveness and efficiency will find much to like. The new plug-in option broadens its appeal further, making the C-HR a compelling option for eco-conscious buyers wanting to stand out from the crowd.
