My God!, finally I found a Mets fan that has suffered much more than me!
Mets fan since 1985, seen everything that happened since, but this guy is a living library, thank you, brought a little joy to my life.
Been a fan since 62. Was only 5 when I watched the games with my father. My father and grandfather were NY Giants fans and they immediately loved the Mets, such as they were.

My late dad and brother were mets fans and i became one in 1973. I cried after they lost to the Astros and was hugged and comforted by Willie Mays. ❤❤❤❤❤

If you were to visit channels from the dime-a-dozen Mets CZcamsrs who do nothing but mercilessly bash the players, you could not in your right mind, even make the suggestion that the Mets have a dedicated fanbase.
The best METS' fans were by far the fans of the 80's, then the 1999 thru 2007 fans and then the 2017 and 2016 fans. Today's fans are very weak and don't fill CITIFIELD.

You really wanna DIs some Mets fans by saying some are "better" than others?
Younger fans feel a sense of DOOM and that fate is against them which 2 decades of bad ownership created.
If you have to grade fans by era I'd give the highest marks to the 60s fans who rooted like crazy for a dreadful losing team -until they suddenly turned unbeatable. That is rewarding true fandom.
In the 80s we were really good and stayed good to great til 1990; thats much easier than having hope when you are losing 100+ wins per year.
I feel bad for the younger fans who have NEVER had the experience of winning it all and have had to deal with THAT OTHER NY MLB team (!) win EVERY DAMN YEAR since 1994 whether they were a good team or not! Can someone please destroy their unaging painting or good luck voodoo charm?
@@paulcunneen3519 i never said some fans are better than others. I just feel from my experience going to many mets game over the last 4-5 years at home and in other ballparks, current met fans are pretty passionate

I love Jay, but the Yankees have 27 championships. Can't give them an extra one!
