- Didn't have a lot of time when I was in Finland but I made sure to get to Tampere to take care of a couple of things. Firstly to visit my grandparents grave. My grandfather passed when I was young and I never knew him. My grandmother passed when I was out at sea and I wasn't able to make it home for the funeral. She was brought back to Finland to rest. Secondly ... Tapolan!
These honest and personal opinions and experiences in this and that other video are so much better than most of the Suomi-videos out here. Everybody does the same thing more or less in a same manner.. Kommunikaatioo.. :P
Kiitos oikein paljon nefelibatacomingthrough.
This was great! Mustamakkara! Really enjoyed this one. Hope you can visit again soon!
Really hope things will be opened up again by summer so we can get over. Missing ALL the food.
It would be very interesting to see you in the Finnish show "Sukuni Salat" some time in the future. It is a Finnish version of Who Do You Think You Are.
That would be interesting. I've never heard of it before.
Oh ya. Please apply!
My mother remembers the Rissanen family. They lived in the same village as my mother. My mother was in the same school class as your uncle (my mother was born 1943). She remembers that Rissanen family went to Kanada.
Hope he sees this!
Thanks for the message. I have not had a lot of time to reply to comments lately but I will pass this on to my father and uncles.
Ihana vanhanajan murre hänellä joka selittää :)
Kiitos katsomisesta Ella. :)
Nice! Our grandparents are also buried in Tampere - Was this in Kalevankangas? (Legend Juice Leskinen is also buried close to our family grave). Tapolan black sausage is the best I've had with lingonberry jam! I also like the Finnish-Turkish kebabs the best compared to e.g. Germany and the UK (best places are Galata and Abu Fuad) - Also the buffalo hotwing capital in Finland lol (the guy bought back the wings in the early 90's). You should try the munkki's (sugar doughnuts) in Pyynikin näkötorni or Pyynikin Helmi cafeteria.
Video and mustamakkara👍
Editing the video made me want some more. :)
I know Anja and Tapsa. I have visited them in Soo and at their summer cottage.
Hauska tutustua!

Tervetuloa, MANSEEN !!! Olet very nice, hieno sivistynyt SUOMIPOIKA, Näytät vähän mallia, junteille !!👍😁
👍🤦🏻♂️wish I understood what you guys were talking about?!? Hahahaha love the shirt!
It's Veikon päivä today and time for nimipäiväkaffit :) Kippis to all Veikot, especially Veikko-vaarit! ❤️
Itsekin täällä Tampereella asustelen, Pohjanmaalta olen kuitenkin kotoisin.
Kiitos katsomisesta SingleTurboSupra. That is my main point of making these videos ... to try and save some stories and memories. :) I hope to get back to see more of Tampere sometime soon.
@@RoyRissanen Hopefully when you come here next time the tram system is fully operational. Might be that you'd get to see Tampere when it's not just one giant road renovation :D
Oh, my ex-wife taught me to love "musta makkara".
I wish I would have tried more when I was a kid and my grandmother made it.
Nice. Tapolan mustamakkara is the best. I live in Tampere and I sometimes buy it from my local grocery store's meat counter. Eating it with lingonberry jam is the one and only right way to eat it.
It was really good. Can't wait to have some more soon.
Kinda weird they even offered mustard.
Nice Mason ring 😉 Gotta love mustamakkara 😊
Kiitos. ;)
The only words I understood were Detroit and Southfield (Michigan I presume) ?
Yes, I belive he was talking about a trip he took there.
Omg, your in my hometown.
Can't wait to get back.
If You want to visit the country side, just contact me and Your welcome. I'll heat the sauna for you. Btw, is Your son in the army at the moment?
Hei. Ja of course 'mustaa makkaraa.💕😄..Sinun sukulaiset pitkään eläneet, katsoin hauta kivestä. Hienoa. En tiennyt että olit syntynyt Canadassa. Hieno puheääni sinulla, todellakin. Kuullaan taasen. Mukavaa iltaa sinulle.👋〰️🍮🌭🌮🌅
Ajoin tossa viime kesänä bussia Tampereella ja juuri tuon hautausmaan nurkilla ajoin siili päältä aamuyön tunteina kun eka linja oli keskustasta 03:50 ja olin sitten taas tulossa keskustaan päin takaisin joskus ennen viittä. Yritin parhaani mukaan väistää mutta ei onnistunut :(
Sometimes our best is all we can do. :(
Ah, Finnish summer!
ha.. well that was the fall already.
you have visited a neighboring town🙂 so your family is from Tampere ?? 😊😊😍
My father was from that area yes.
@@RoyRissanen Okay and good issue 🙂👍
Wow u where here :) Was this in Kalevankaan cemetary? Tammelan torilla kävitte kans :)
Yes, I'm not sure of the name but it was very beautiful.
Pretty sure it's Kalevankangas cemetery, not far from the beginning of the video. My grandparents are also buried there.
@@JiihaaS I'll check. Someone commented on my Top Ten video saying that they work there.
Yes, Kalevankangas cemetery.
@@RoyRissanen :) Nice 30min from i live atm :) Its also old battleground of finnish civil war
Paljon rautaa, terveellistä.
Definitely going to have more when I get back
@@RoyRissanen Cool. 😊
I sure wish that people wouldn't walk on graves, I'd get pissed. Not talking about you Roy.
Those are urn graves with one plot fitting about nine urns. Also it's normal to walk on them to get to your section. The graveyard in question, Kalevankangas, has paved main "roads" which the cars would drive the bodies on or the staff would drive their mini tractors. The coffin plots are a bit further atop, as the urn plots go along the wall you see on the video.
The grass is well cared for, there are a lot of different plant species and lots of trees. *"Walking on the graves" is not a thing here.* It's more disrespectfull to be obnoxiously loud without a reason, drunk or generally not behaving.
Think you'd be more offended to know that in that graveyard there are several mass graves and there used to be a concentration camp there. And that the graveyard is popular for people taking walks, running or just walking through it to get to the bus stop.
I've got atleast 6 relatives buried there in different spots, with one in the Sankarihauta (= Hero's Grave, a monument for those fallen in WW2) so I think I'd know.
@@marialindell9874 If you think that walking on any grave is "fine" you are out of your mind!
@@marialindell9874 Calling the prison camp a concentration camp is factually wrong. Are you part of the red plague?
@@ImForwardlook Again, "walking on graves" is not disrespectfull here like in your country -assuming you aren't Finnish (checked it, you aren't).
*And you literally have to walk over the plots (1m x 1m sized usually) to even get to the fucking gravestone!*
_AGAIN._
Not every place is like USA and not everywhere are the exact same views held.
Heck, you don't dare go to a Sikh event and order them to bury their dead the Christian way. You don't get to tell an Indian person that burning the dead bodies is the wrong way to do it, because in your mind it's not correct.
Or perhaps I should call all Americans lunatics for forcing their literal kids to salute to a fucking flag every morning, or risk being called a terrorist who will destroy the country?!
But I, a Finn with half my life spent caring for dead people, my disabled mother and a bunch of abusive assholes, am out of my fucking mind to just walk to my own fucking grandmothers gravestone to place a small candle.
Perhaps I shouldn't even do that, she was an alcoholic, abusive bitch after all. Would that be disrespectfull enough for you Mr. "Patriot".
And as just a small tip: don't put "patriotic repuplican" videos in your own CZcams profile, when your people are causing mass murders to happen accross the country, are denying women of their human rights and have regressed USA to mashed potates. If you dare come at civilised people and one of the oldest cemetaries of the area, maybe you should take a good look at how cemetaries are being treated in the USA first.
Paras makkara mustamakkara
Kylla!
Tiedätkö Mämmin
@@finsaw750 Joo kylla! :)
Eläinrääkkäystä koiran pitäminen noin pienessä häkissä. Siis minun mielestäni, en tiedä mitä laki sanoo. Meillä on kaksi koiraa itsellä, eikä tulisi mieleenkään laittaa noin ahtaaseen lootaan.
Kiitos katsomisesta Jouni.
Ihan normaali lyhytaikaiseen kuljetustarkoitukseen autossa.
