California Road Trip with Kids - Planning and Route Selection

We are Paradise Falls Family - we're a family of four who love to explore the world together. We are hoping by sharing some of our top tips for each destination we will inspire you (and save you some research!)
We had a wonderful trip to California and this vlog talks about why we chose the route/stop offs and timings we did which will hopefully be helpful to anyone else planning a California road trip.
This video shows us stopping at Los Angeles, Anaheim then travelling up the Pacific Coast Highway and stopping at Venice Beach, Malibu (Zuma Beach), Santa Barbara, Solvang, Morro Bay, Elephant Seal Vista Point, McWay Falls, Nepenthe Restaurant, Bixby Bridge, Monterey & Carmel. We stopped overnight at Lompoc and Salinas then carried onto Yosemite National Park before finishing the road trip in San Francisco!

Did your little ones struggle with the drives in-between places? We're currently in debates to either go to Florida or California (like you, we've been to both before we had our daughter (she'll be 9 by the time we make our USA trip with her
@@RebeccaHutchinson-r6s I think it depends on the children! Ours were absolutely fine (loaded up iPads and lots of snacks!) but ours are used to long drives to see family when home. We try to set a maximum of 4 hours driving a day and it was so easy to break this trip up with places along the way! I think 9 is a perfect age!
can someone help me i would like to do san franscio for 4 days including yosemite then drive to la spend a week there including disney and universal. just find california so confusing its massive hoping to go in feb next year
@@shazzy3141 we’ve got lots of vlogs on how we did this trip including vlogs for each area like Yosemite, Disney, LA etc so give them a watch and let me know if you have any questions! We’ve done San Francisco, Yosemite, LA, Disney and Universal so should be able to answer any questions you have!
@@paradisefallsfamily will be watching all tonight thanks a lot. do you think i should fly to yosemite international airport instead of san francisco and then make my route that way? i really didn't want to stay at different hotels but that seems the easiest way looks like probably 3-4 different hotel stays lol
@@shazzy3141yeah they are all too far apart really to not stay in different hotels! Completely depends where you’re flying from as well, we’re from the UK so the direct flights were just to the big cities.
@@paradisefallsfamily yes your right i just checked no direct flights to that airport from london only to the main ones.
