I mean I've done this before and trust me you want a loud and stern instructor to whip your ashes into shape! The upper yough humbles just about every single person who has the honor of rafting it. However, it is EXTREMELY dangerous and people can die if you take the wrong line and people fall out.
Holy shit man, I would have a heart attack paddling with an instructor like this... 90% of the time he sounded like he was either afraid for his life, or angry at the paddlers. I understand you're in class V rapids, but under NO circumstances with this aggressive of an instructor help out in anyway

I really hope that guy isn't guiding anymore. He is not making this the fun day it should be. Awful boat commands. It's painful to listen to. And it comes off as a lack of confidence not only in his crew, but his own guiding ability. If you need to scream at your crew all day long when they are clearly already responsive, you're not a good guide. You might be an alright boater, but you're an awful guide.
