  • Made as a set, the adult and matching baby poncho are fresh for Spring 2022. Titled as Spring Mom and Me Ponchos. Using Red Heart Super Saver Ombre yarn for the smooth transition of colouring to give it the highlighting, these ponchos are an easy 2-round repeat.
Both ponchos are the same stitch work but with different starting chains to change the size.
Whether you wear one just as an adult or just make one for a baby, together, they make a cute set.
The poncho is set for fashion length for the adult version of 17" long from the neckline down the front. Regular ponchos or longer can extend down up to 24" or more. In this case, if you do the fashion length it only needs 1 ball of Super Saver Ombre in purple. If you want it longer, you will need to buy more yarn. I had enough yarn leftover to trim the baby collar and vice versa for the adult version.
The baby version is about 10" from the neckline down.

This is such a great idea. Love the texture. Crocheting IS a journey hmmm. One starts out with a ball of yarn and in the end creates something made with love. Well then there is always another journey waiting. Isn't there 🙂 thank you Mikey.

This is so adorable! So Mikey, I'm terrible at reading diagrams so I'm going to ask before I confuse myself. To make this as you demonstrated, it's about 10 inches from the collar for a 1 year old. If I measured my granddaughter from her collar to where the poncho should fall, can I just continue with the rounds until it's the size I need? Something tells me no, that it doesn't work like that. What do you think?

As a capelet lover, I have made many items from yr tutorials ! I do want to make a mummy & me poncho for sure but if I am making one for 9 - 10 year old, how many chains should I start from ? PS my favourite tutorial was the cape/poncho u did few yrs ago with the heavy collar. The model in pic is wearing a hat and poncho was in blue and gray tone. I made it first as is but I end up making few after for myself and my daughter without the collar and we love them so much ! My daughter even wore it for picture day ✌

Question but not about this pattern. When you have a chain 3 space in your row, can you do the pattern stitches around the chain instead of going into each chain

    J'ai confectionné un poncho et j'ai l'impression qu'un côté ne correspond pas à l'autre côté, est-ce normal ?
