  • Digging out and draining the pond. Back on the pond job where I continue to dig out the pond and get ready to drain the two smaller ponds into one big pond. Once I get the ponds drained I can dredge them out and finish shaping the entire pond. It's starting to shape up now and you can start to see how it will look when it's complete. Thanks for watching! #EliteEarthworks #Takeuchi #pondwork

Sell all the mud to the farmer next door, most likely came off his field. Stay safe and cool in this hot weather.

Playin in the mud, that's always fun. That little truck has probably already paid for itself as far as convenience. It just seems like a lot of fun to operate.

Could that mud be used to fertilize the soil in the garden?

Well, Lake ELITE is comin' right along - turtles and all! Can't believe those turtles - we did see a couple of them sort of swimmin' around. I imagine the smell coming out of this is something to behold. Nice work, as always.

Thank you! Lol there are plenty of turtles. I think they all finally found the water again cause I got all the mud out on Saturday and I haven’t seen anymore. Yes it stinks something awful lol but will make really nice topsoil when it dries

Nice job Brandon, I was yelling at you thru the screen, Turtles.. I saw 2 of them in that muck!! Hope they survived. Not sure if you saw them when you were editing or not, but they were on the far side from where you were. 🐢🐢 I always have a soft spot for wildlife.... 😊

Dirtdaddy tends to push the mud out when it gets that bad, or bails what he can from clean ground and swings to where he can dump it behind the dam, then dozes the mud to a spot he can reach and bail it over the dam. he has a hundred or so videos of mucking out farm ponds on his youtube channel.

Yeah Larry just lives about 30 minutes east of me. That’s kind of what I ended up doing until I filled the dam area up lol

    Hey Brandon!!
Hope things are going well with you & the family.
That client has given you a nice fairly steady flow of work!! Those culverts in the background look sooo great!! You know me,,, stones, rip rap and asphalt!! 😂😂. I think I can see where you are going with the pond and you seem to be managing the water well. May have to pump it out at some point, a bridge you can cross when/if you get there. That’s an unusually deep pond! I like deep ponds actually, but for me, it’s about the trout! It’s funny hearing you indicate that 90F isn’t too bad,,,, that’s pretty hot here!! Hottest day of the year so far yesterday at 37C or 98.6 degrees F. That was pretty d*mn hot!! It’s a lot better today, but I’m out at the lake as well,, 😂😂. It’s always nicer her as it’s in the foothills and about 1500 ft higher than at home. 3100 ft at home and 4650 feet here. Getting close to the mile mark. You sure feel it when working a hill on the bike or even walking the pooch!! 😂 As we know,,, I’m a fair bit older than yourself,, heh heh.
I can see this shaping up. Might be nice to build up the dam in the back to creat a slope that can be mowed, but the client has to be prepared to let it dry a few months or more. I think it would be worth it in the long run being able to properly bush hog it or even pull a bit of hay off of it.
I’d be making hay with it! Do these mini round bales that horse loving friends like. They are easy to use in the barn & the feeders are those poly 45 gallon barrels cut in 1/2 with a simple 2x4 frame. I do the hay up for something to do and sell it to cover my costs only. They keep it quiet so they can get the deal and so I don’t have to deal with strangers regarding the hay. A win/win scenario. My “farm tractors” are a whopping 28 & 38 hp!! Heh heh. Both John Deeres though! The bigger tractor does the mowing and raking, they both run balers. The smallest bales with the 28 hp and the bigger tractor does the largest mini bales about 150-170 lbs or so. You can haul a lot on a 28 ft aluminum trailer (my car hauler as well,,,).
Anyways,, easy work. You have it a fair bit harder!! I bet some of that muck just smells precious!!! 😂😂😂. Better you than me! Eh! I finally had time to catch up with most of the videos I normally watch. This feeling good gets in the way of my CZcams time!😂😂.
You and yours all stay safe, Eh!

Doing great just enjoying the heat 🤣 Glad to hear you are doing well too! That’s exactly what I am doing with most of the dirt and mud. Changing the angle of the back side of the dam to make it easier to mow. Should come out and make life easier for him. Appreciate you watching as always and it’s great catching up with you
