A reall RamblinAround Classic for sure buddy !!
Just Beautifull......
That thing is sick!! I can't wait to see what else you guys Punkout!! Incorporating the clock, meter, night light and light was brilliant!!☺
@1963impala2dr I hadn't heard of it either until Jordan built a steampunk gun. I've seen people come up with some pretty interesting stuff. Thanks for checking out my lamp.
One of the best looking lamps I've ever seen. Great job.
Well I have never seen any other lamp that looks like your lamp, so that makes yours quite unique I reckon. I like what you've done with the meter, in fact I have never seen the insides of one, so another 1st for me. Thanks, and a nice looking lamp, I like it... :)
Thanks for checking it out, I appreciate it!
Beautiful project! I love that ceramic insulator "detail" =) High-voltage look.
@LatigidGolana I had to work with what was available. I might be able to change out the fixture at a later time...or maybe add something to it. Thanks for watching!
BRILLIANT!!! JUST BEAUTIFUL
Nice- I like the way that turned out! Pretty cool how you integrated the clock as well!
That looks pretty impressive. Your son will have to come up with something really good to beat that :)
@Gasser4x4 Thanks, glad you like it.
@805ROADKING Thanks my friend, we have a couple more projects on the way.
@rogerstill71 Thanks for taking a look! Red Green would have used a little duct tape though.
@CharlesHenrySanson That's cool that you used to work there. It's a shame that they weren't able to stay in business. Thanks for taking a look at my lamp!
very cool, I like steampunk but more so diesel punk. cars and motorcycles and stuff from the 20's to the late 40's or so, golden age of radio and automobiles.
looks so much better with the glass globe
good job on your projection. Looks amazing.
@wtbm123 Thanks for checking it out!
Thats cool as hell !
@Bevoin1970 Thanks for checking it out my friend!
That`s pretty cool!!!!
interesting.. I'd never even heard of "steampunk" until your recent video.. cool stuff!
WOW!
That was so interesting!
Well Done! =)
@RamblinAround it looks awesome but i have a suggestion that i think would make it look even better, i think you should thread that wire on top of the electricity meter through some thin copper pipe. that would really finish it off. anybody like if you agree
@210johndeere More projects will be on the way shortly. Thanks for watching!
I worked for Sangamo Electric. It was derived from Illinois Watch Co, The Digital age did them in at their Springfield Il. location, too bad. They manufactured a lot of precision intruments. They may still be operating in Kissimee Fla. I may have to try some of this Retro stuff, Art Deco is so cool.
Nice work, very cool project.
@Firemind94 I'll eventually show the room they are going into. Thanks for watching!
Pretty cool
@1891VIC Thanks for taking a look at it!
Cool!
@mbyr31 Thanks for checking it out, I appreciate it!
That is just way to cool
@monarch1957 You're right, there should be a surplus of them out there. I've seen a lot of places changing them out lately.
Excellent
@Busia1949 Thanks George, I appreciate that.
thanks for shareing show more stuf some time
Thanks, I appreciate that!
Pretty awesome lamp...you should have done a video of you making it...so the rest of us could make one as well.
sweet!
@RamblinAround Always welcome! =)
@koioo2 Thank you very much my friend.
I never pegged either you or your boy as a steam punk fan...Very nice work! The only bit of constructive critisizm I have is with the moden light fixture. It needs to be more late 19th century. But otherwise this came out excelent, and you know a lot of money can be made from the elaberate costumes and machinery they come up with. The artists that make that stuff make good livings. Ebay some stuff youll see ;0)
@cisjohn2616 Thanks Capt, I appreciate it!
@JoeJoeTater Thanks, I appreciate that!
@thunderroadtrucks Thanks, I appreciate that!
Pretty Cool an the gang mate
But would look great if you replaced those crossed head screws for brass slot head ones , great job though
@sandrateager Thanks, I appreciate that!
Nothing to say about it, Fantastic awesome thanks, GOD Blessed
@ziggassedup Thanks for taking a look!
First time I seen one. Our province is changing all the electric meters to smart meters so they will have thousands of the old style meters left.
thats bad to the bone I like it alot
@pearsonba350 Thanks, I appreciate that.
Some of the parts I found at a flea market and others I bought at Goodwill.
@SneekySnakeOO I still need to get that thing done. I keep walking by it every day. I'll get to it eventually.
@gsmarcano Honestly, I'm a big fan of that era too. Some of the best design occurred during the late 20's to early 30's in my opinion. I really like Art Deco.
@2LateIWon Thanks!
Nice touch with the insulator & clock but kind of a shame to remove the watthour hands, I made one too, but I keep it fully functional, I plan to make others with glass insulators, Thanks for sharing!
@colt4667 :) Thanks for watching!
@juicedmonkey1111 Thanks for watching!
@RamblinAround Hit the antique shops your bound to find all kinds a cool stuff.
thats very nice! although i think the cross head screws dont look as good as flat head ones would have looked better. nice one!
@FatGuyWithAKatana Nothing is safe now..who knows what'll be next.
Where did you aquire te parts, not many meters and insulators lying around right?
Great job! Looks awesome.
STEAMPUNK THE HEATER AMP!!!
Absolutely fantastic! Would you know where I could find instructions as to how the meter needs to be modified so the disc spins like yours with like a 60 watt bulb?
There is a brake magnet, just remove that and power the voltage coil, that will get it spinning. if you add the lower current coil to the bulb load it will spin much faster, you will have to add a magnet to actually slow down the spin.

Great job on the electric meter lamp. Did you modify the electric meter to spin that fast ?
Where did you end up finding 120 Volt clock display ?
How did you adapt the meter to make it spin that fast with just a light bulb connected?
GREAT JOB!!! I've been wanting to make one of these for awhile now, my friend who works for the power company recently gave me 10 meters. My question to you is how do I make/obtain the back pan in which the meters blades snap into?
You buy them at Lowes or any electrical supply store. Just ask for a Watt hour Meter Box.
Your son is very lucky
I didn't think I'd ever be inspired by steampunk... Very well done, sir.
