- I did a contest where the video game convention that got the most votes was where I went. The popular vote went to Midwest Gaming Classic in Milwaukee, WI so I booked a flight, hotel, bought tickets. I'm so glad MGC won as I had a wonderful time! OMG I made the thumbnail! That is so exciting! Just to be clear, joking aside, I was not 'offing' Mini-MeBotnik. My GF had a bunch of random plushies she wanted to sell at the con and I saw that one and I was like "I am giving this one to Riggs as a gift for helping me with some advice on how to do my first con." This made my day then and again today! Thank you for what you do Riggs!

Btw Milka chocolate is from switzerland. Love the classic "vollmilch" and "kuhflecken" chocolate! Its the best chocolate and pretty big in german speaking countrys. I eat it every day tbh 😆
Yeah but is a brand that is on many countries as a "local brand". I'm from Argentina and we have Milka as a local product produced here for the local market from almost 40 years, so maybe the dude believes is from other countrie for the same reason, still you say the truth.

It should be noted that Covid scaled this year's event way back. Normally the amount of games to play are far more abundant. The Museum play area used to be a sardine can of bodies and tables.
I was personally a little let down by the MGC website interface not giving a clear event list. Then at the show itself, the panels were not listed in full anywhere I saw. I missed out on the Retronauts and Gamester due to this.
The guest list was also a little down from year's past. We were thrilled to see the Million Dollar Man and Eric Bischoff 2 years ago. And the 2021 canceled April show was to have had Pat Contri, the great John Riggs and other youtubers.
Still a lot of fun. I saw John twice on Saturday (once while we were shopping and a quick cameo Riggs made by the wrestling event) but I didn't rush over for a quick hello. I was hoping to buy him a beer :)
I didn't go this year but watching the video I did notice that. I went in 2019 and it was packed! I love how Riggs seems to be a country bumpkin come to the big city for the first time. ;)
Quite a haul of Turbografx games you picked up. I was hoping you'd grab that Air Zonk, great game!

oh man seeing that TMNJ turtle van ride reminded me of the glossy plastic turtles figure line in the mid 90's I had a bunch of them and I think they did some characters outside of just the turtles themselves in the glossy more cartoony way, could be wrong

I love the Vectrex! It was the one console I wanted as a kid, but we couldn't afford it. I picked one up locally for a really good price several years ago and I don't regret it.

Really glad you enjoyed yourself, I was super happy to be back at the show after they had to cancel last year. I saw you as you were making your rounds in the vendor hall, but didn't want to bother you while you were looking at stuff. Next time I'll make sure to say "Hi".
I have a Fairchild in my garage. I need to hook it up again one day in my game room. I spent HOURS playing the building cowboy shooting and light cycle like games.

It was a very fun convention, first time me going to a con since 2006, met loads of wonderful people and spent more then I should but wouldn't change a thing.
It was great for my wife and I to meet you and get a picture with you. It was another great convention. I bought way too many games, but we are glad to add so many games to our collection. Come back next year!

That's def the midwest gaming classic. However- I am a firm believer it should be in the spring. I skipped this last one. I will be attending this spring. I only live 2 hours away. Been going since like 08

At glance it did not appear to be a lot of people in this gaming con but the pro of that is that you have plenty of opportunity to play games you love while feeling comfortable. I am sure for the vendors and celebrities it may not be that great if they had high expectations of making money.

Doc’s Smokehouse is the second best reason to visit downtown Milwaukee after MGC.

Holy crap, there is a Halloween Pinball - I hope I run into a chance to play that. I'm just grateful you had a fun time John. It may be a long time before I get to a gaming convention myself because I haven't bought a video game in a long time, and because of the pandemic it is just too expensive for a lot of things these days because of inflation from the worker and product shortage. As long as you had a great time and got some things you needed for yourself that is all that matters.
So much pinball! Even had a 'homebrew pinball' area that had pinball games like Undertale, Castlevania and more.
I just picked up a loose vectrex for $370. It rocks. Also the games are really cheap for how expensive the system is
I have a friend who owns a Beatle pinball and I'm pretty sure they come with 2 or 3 songs that the specific machine plays. So each machine differs slightly based on the music it plays.
