  • This week, the Shaturday Boys invite Director Steve Lawrence, the Alan Smithee of VCR Party Live, to endure 1990's Computer Warriors, the understandably forgotten cartoon pilot for the understandably forgotten Mattel toy. The fellas ponder 90s computing, lamentable raps, product placement, and peeing robots while watching what can be charitably described as reverse-Tron Transformers. Then they screen commercials for obscure computers before playing a rousing game of What's This Dongle Do? So hold on to your shat... It's Toon Time!

I think Steve’s idea of the New Age Programmable Rock! is your literal ticket out of your hellhole.

unless pop-tarts changed their ingredients, they aren't vegan, the frosting contains gelatin

Oh no, Nick is doomed, he's only gonna live to 98 instead of 99 years old 😢

UK versions of processed foods often veganize ingredients for their market which aren't in the US.

Great job with the game George, that WAS more fun than the cartoon. Bonus points for the Sanford and Son theme joke, that made me laugh 👍

Looking at the credits, a few famous names in there. Simpsons director "Kent Butterworth", and "Chris Reccardi" (Ren and Stimpy). Both were on Ralph Bakshi's "New Mighty Mouse" cartoon, which has a few episodes specifically skewering cash-grab toy-cartoons like this one!

I might be watching this show a bit too much. I've started talking like cartoons. Now when people come over, I greet them by rubbing my hands together and saying, "so nice of you to drop in." I then laugh maniacally.

Oh man, this cartoon was one of the few vhs tapes i personally owned as a kid. I wanted these toys so bad

So it was never aired, but sold on VHS? That makes so much sense as I remember a couple of these toys from garage sales or something as a kid, but had no idea it was a cartoon.

I had a bunch of those toys, the soccer trophy, flashlight, calculator, clock and book, at least. The virus characters were pretty cool.

The computer animation was really good. At times this looks like cartoons that were released theatrically. There was no way they would be willing to keep that up past the pilot.

I hate the transition from hand drawn animation to everything being computer generated, but I am loving the animation here.

Sounds like Steve and Joe need to hash things out as to who's the best uncle. Maybe an uncle off?

The concept of this cartoon seems to be, “you can make your ordinary bedroom the setting”, thus removes the need to buy toy accessories.. hmmm

I like Joe’s idea of a smell recording device. You could tell your friends you recorded the smell of a rainstorm on an autumn day but then they get hit with the odor of a steak and whiskey fart.
