Just on the Alonso situation, I’m all for having him as our manager and the job he’s done with Leverkusen is fantastic.
Alonso is one of our own, but the huge concern for me is longevity.
Can we rely on him to stick around, if and when Real Madrid come calling? I’m not so sure.
We need longevity with the new appointment.
That’s why I wouldn’t discount Amorim. We also like to scout the Portuguese league and Amorim would have those connections and eye for talent.
He would also recommend the best players after managing in that league.
The club did say the appointment would be data led, and not driven by emotion. That says a lot.
For me I think Amorim gives us that longevity.
I just don’t trust that Alonso would still be our manager in 5/7 years because of the connection he has at the Bernabeu.
He would feel like more of a romanticised appointment for the short term.
I agree with you in terms of when Madrid one day come knocking he’ll probably jump at chance.

I'm loving the team's cureent form and the fact that the kids (amongst the injury mayhem) are getting opportunities. I'm definitely concerned about the injury crisis.
I like Gakpo, but I think he might not be the dogged player we all want him to be, and that's ok. Klopp and his team have to find a way to make it work with him in the team. He's a really good player, and it'd be a waste to move him on ao soon. Maybe the next manager gets a tune out of him.

Just had a thought, if Edwards is indeed becoming apart of FSG, will he have the influence to improve the availability of fund, meaning we can match wage d man’s easier on new contracts, and having more funds available so that we done have situation where it is ‘Bellingham or Mac Allister & Szoboszlai.
If thats the case then great. I still believe the foundation to a successful transition is getting Salah, Van Dijk and Alisson to buy in to the project and get new contracts
The thing about neymar is he sort like destroys the invincibility in brazil national team of late..... i was really expecting he will be next Pele in terms of legacy of brazil national team... it really dispppoints me because i really follow neymar career since the beginning of his career from Santos.. Guys you are wrong regarding Klopp and Joe Fagen. Joe Fagen ( 1983-85) has won 3 trophies. Dalglish has won 6 trophies in his two spells without the charity shield. Klopp has won 7 trophies without the charity shield.
