Your photos (and whips!) are looking really good, Garret. I also love to shoot my whips on cloudy days, as direct sunlight is extremely harsh unless the sun is low on the horizon. The setup you are using is perfect for the job in my opinion. A future third diffused light is always nice if you plan to shoot multiple whips at once, but for now I'd say your setup is spot on.
