Having listened carefully, I observed that Pastor Kumuyi's speech was CONDITIONAL! If setting up committees make members fear men (committee members) more than they fear God, SUCH THAT THEY WILL LIE TO MEN (committee members) and RISK THEIR ETERNITY IN HELL FIRE, then the purpose of setting up these committees and ministries (which is to set things in order and prepare the church for the LORD's return) is defeated. Pastor said if that is the case, then he would rather scrap such committees... It's purely conditional! listen again especially from the 3rd minute! And by the way, COMMITTEES ARE NOT DOCTRINES!

I think the committee should not be scrapped if the members are doing the right thing in the right manner. Emmanuel those human doctrine are not contrary to the word of God as you claim, they are to help in administrative work, they are not sinful doctrines. WFK and the church elders brought in those ideas to help in church admin and organisation but some naive people in the church assume it as bible doctrine rather than focusing more the weighty things in the scripture. That is what he is emphasising on. If I wash my hand well before eating is a good hygiene and if I do not wash my hand and still eat that also is not a sinful. The issue of TV, the technology itself is not sinful but what is being used for or shown out of it can be extremely evil and offensive that can corrupt or pollute a soul, likewise it can be used to preach the gospel and reach out to the unsaved however now the content on the phone we carry about can see more extreme evil than even the TV does.

However sir, human doctrine or code of conduct or customs has always been part of church culture over the ages although they differ from church to church. They had it in the early church as well. Certain Jewish customs were still being observed example was the Nazarene vow where for Paul shaved his hair to keep and he also shaved others too in the book of Act. This customs or tradition are ok as long as they are not taught as the doctrine of God that is needed for salvation or a creteria for heaven.

However whatever anyone need to do to help preserve his or her salvation and spiritual alertness should not be undermined by others. If meat will make my brother or myself to stumble I will not eat meat but meat in itself is not sinful or evil, that is my point here. I am not saying that if WFK decides to trim down or remove some of the church human doctrine or customs they should not. They are entitled to do so as they see fit. If Paul choose to circumcise Timothy and Timothy agreed to be circumcised its not sinful. If they chose otherwise not to it's not also sinful for we are saved by grace not of works of circumcision. What would be wrong is if Paul had said Timothy you are not saved because you are not circumcised then that would have been a stumbling block to Timothy.

I am not a Deeper Life member, but Kumuyi is my present role model in Christianity. He makes me feel and witness from afar how the apostles were. Praise God. There is nothing wrong in wise counseling. Proverbs 15:22 and prov 27:9. The minister is not saying to avoid wise counselling. There was nothing mentioned about a doctrine being removed in that message but a committee, and we ought to know what a Doctrine is. Only Bible doctrines are used in Deeper Life Bible Church which were not set up by man and therefore cannot be removed. However committees are set up by man and if they make people to fear men more then they fear God, they can be removed for the benefit of one's soul.

Hey brothers and sisters, let's not be hasty and rash with comments under this channel. Pastor Kumuyi here simple talks of administrative restructuring, not doctrinal adjustment or mortification. Note that administrations vary from Church to Church. The emphasis here still drives towards holiness and uncompromising Christian living. Emmanuel those human doctrine are not contrary to the word of God as you claim, they are to help in administrative work, they are not sinful doctrines. WFK and the church elders brought in those ideas to help in church admin and organisation but some naive people in the church assume it as bible doctrine rather than focusing more the weighty things in the scripture. Sir what impediment do you refer to. Can you list the few ones you know? However sir, human doctrine or code of conduct or customs has always been part of church culture over the ages although they differ from church to church. They had it in the early church as well. Certain Jewish customs were still being observed example was the Nazarene vow where for Paul shaved his hair to keep and he also shaved others too in the book of Act. This customs or tradition are ok as long as they are not taught as the doctrine of God that is needed for salvation or a creteria for heaven.

Two, I stated clearly that I was talking from a mere man's understanding; not that of God. However, my point is that Kumuyi preaches righteousness without being afraid of losing members. He's not afraid of what the world calls him. Most pastors value what the world says of them and that's bad!

Praise God. There is nothing wrong in wise counseling. Proverbs 15:22 and prov 27:9. The minister is not saying to avoid wise counselling.
It becomes a problem when a committee wants to stands in the place or position of God and when a comttee wants to inflict fear, bondage and wrong doctrine into people.
Guiding people in the fear and uprightness and the benefit of God first is great.
Many marriages are in trouble today because of poor advice and counseling from within the church and outside the church.

There was nothing mentioned about a doctrine being removed in that message but a committee, and we ought to know what a Doctrine is. Note that administrations vary from Church to Church. The emphasis here still drives towards holiness and uncompromising Christian living. If as the leader of the denomination he notices that the Marriage Committee and Women Department (at that time he preached this message) were not not complementing the objective for which he set them, he will consider a restructuring. IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH CHANGING DOCTRINAL STANDARDS. The man of God is very much on the right path. In Acts 6:1-7 we see the Apostle setting administrative structures to facilitate an orderly and smooth running of the early Church. There, their innovation had nothing to do with doctrine. It is similar to this case at hand.
