Very cool Adam. You did good. I am impressed you followed procedure by doing a recon before the approach to land. Very good practice. Probably pretty exhilarating experience and accomplishment. Off airport landings is why we fly helicopters. Carry on good sir!

I've been flying in helicopters since I was 8. Made friends with someone who owned a helicopter business and would do whatever he needed done to get free rides with him. And now I'm thinking about how I can get my own but I'm NEVER going to fly an R22 or anything else with the potential to mast bump. These Rotorway turbines seem like a great place to start. But I can't seem to find any for sale.

I watched a few of your videos, i was looking to purchase a piston rotorway/X to avoid costly turbone repairs/maintenance. I really want a turbine though.
What fuel consumption are you getting with your jet exec? What size tank is that and have you recorded or noticed your top and cruise speeds yet?
    Thanks in advance.

      Hello! Thanks for watching!
My fuel burn is around 13 gph solo and 15 gph with a passenger. It has a 40 gallon tank. The VNE is 115 mph, and a comfortable cruise speed is 90-100.
Any repairs you'd need to do on the turbine really aren't costly. The whole turbine unit only costs around $10k, but it's very hardy, so shouldn't need repairs within the life of the helicopter. Other parts are generally more of the concern.
