I actually think that the protagonist may be someone from a mental asylum is. Cause in german "Schwester" can mean sister obviously but it also means nurse. And it also says "Ihr Schaffensplatz ist gar nicht weit. Ist gleich im Zimmer nebenan" which could be taken as she works next door and doesn't need a train or something to get to work. When you first hear the Schwester you think of sister first but then the part with the work makes less sense. But if you replace sister with nurse it makes sense imo. Also I think that when the protagonist is talking about " Am Himmel dunkle Wolken ziehen Ich nehme artig meine Medizin Und warte hier im Daunenbett Bis die Sonne untergeht " he doesn't actually mean the weather conditions he is talking about his illness or his disease which gets worse and worse per day and when "night comes" he is unstoppable. The puppe could be a replacement for the female character. So when the refrain hits it could also mean that he is attacking her and maybe even killing her. But I'm not sure. Do you think that he is the killer of the"nurse" or was it someone else
yes the translation nurse for schwester makes way more sense. he sings "die schwester"(that sister) instead of mein schwester (my sister), now if schwester is nurse than die schwester/ the nurse fits perfectly with the rest of the song. if both he and the nurse are in the same mental asylum, he might only see the nurse coming from the room next door, when she leaves to go to the next patient (work) she will lock his door after she gave him a doll so he wont feel lonely. she come and she goes and sometimes there are 2. which is not rare for nurses when they go to a patient. the most awsome thing i find in tills lyrics is that most of his songs can be interpetated in many ways and makes his listeners translate in their own way of interpetation.
