I like the Dreamcast but I have to be honest, PlayStation 2 offers me more games, more years in market. Todo Bad Dreamcast didn't continue, is superior in other matters, only lacks in the romset.
ps2 (dual shock 1/2/3) are vastly superior to the dreamcast controller lol, you crazy man. dreamcast was clearly trying to recreate the Nights into Dreams gamepad on the saturn. sadly releasing a controller with fewer buttons than previous gen systems was a huge mistake by Sega
Largest and with the most quality, the Dreamcast was a great system, but the PS2 has such a great library that it is no wonder why it's the most sold console of all time
@Greg Pincus better library? The Gamecube had some high quality games, that's not up for debate, but its whole library doesn't stand a chance against the PS2's total sum of titles Don't get me started, i could spend all day naming great PS2 titles
@Greg Pincus well, that's your opinion But well, you consider Tekken 4&5 mediocre, so there is not a lot argue about You have an odd taste in videogames if you consider that the GTA trilogy in PS2 in worse than Scarface:The World is yours You're leaving out great titles such as the Rachet&Clank, Jak and Daxter and Sly Cooper trilogies, Prince of Persia:The Sands of Time, GT 3&4, Shadow of the Colossus and Ico,GOW,MGS 2&3, Final Fantasy X, Devil May Cry 1&3, Okami and the list goes on and on I could name a couple more, this is just the tip of the iceberg, but i think you've had enough with these
I hated the PS2. I went through 4, and they all fucked out. There's not even a single game I'd play on it now a days. Fuck the PS2. Dreamcast on the other hand has a way better library. I still have it plugged in, and it's my main console.
@@user-mu8er9kz8t shut the fuck up ps2 had fucking everything do your fucking resarch on how many good games there are on ps2 that are exclusives there is like like more than 400 exclusives a lot worth playing the Dreamcast was about to have gta 3 but they quit last second and shinobi was about to be exclusive as well for Dreamcast but became ps2 exclusives see I do my fucking resarch with all consoles and its a fact ps2 has a shit ton of exclusives that are amazing it’s sega fault they died
I had a Playstation 2, but I didn't play it for a long time, because after 2 years I acquired an Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, then the Ps2 became obsolete for me, because I saw much better graphics on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. I sold my Ps2. I liked the Ps3 and Xbox 360 so much that to this day both are my favorite consoles. I've never seen a Dreamcast, to be honest I've never seen a Sega Console up close.
PS2 is better, because of it's game library. A vast native library, and it was compatible with 99.9% of of the PS1 library out of the box. I rest my case.
ai ds.It's very true,I'm tired of repairing my dreamcast so I finally decided to quit the shit.PS2,no absolutely doubt is one of the top console of all time, dreamcast, one of the worst.Sega is a failure, sony continue making awesome PlayStation consoles today. Not my opinion.
I have 2 original Dreamcasts here, one bought on 9/9/99 and the other on 11/30/99 that I bought for my brother to give to him at Christmas that year, and he gave back to me a few years ago because he no longer used it, both still work flawlessly, neither have had any work done except I have replaced their internal lithium batteries so that they would hold a charge again. I think you just had some seriously bad luck Matteo.
@@matteopicchiarelli162 You meant the PlayStation 2's laser kept fucking up! that piece of shit Sony console ALWAYS breaks! including the PSP and PlayStation 3! I've had my Dreamcast around since Summer 2000 and NOT ONCE EVER broke down after many years later! While my Phat Original PlayStation 2 i had since 2002 (or 2001) completely broke off and none of my PlayStation 2 and PlayStation 1 games i've bought a long time ago doesn't even work no more and had to throw it in the trash!!
My PS2 Slim doesn't even need a laser to run games! I use something called FreeMcboot that allows me to run bootleg applications and software directly from a pendrive or PC HardDrive through the network port. My Dreamcast is old I buy it from other person, but it's fine I can use it as it was suposed to be used, I know there are some mods to make it run games from SD cards.
Sales don't reflect the quality of a console. In the beginning of the PS2, most people bought a PS2 so they could play DVD's (and because some were cheaply made and broke down on some people, they had to keep buying new PS2's which added more to the sales). What game was there at launch that made people buy the PS2?... Not much. Even today, the average gamers don't really play the PS2 anymore. They have moved on to the PS4. The Dreamcast has a cult following and is still being used today.
@@user-mu8er9kz8t I still have my Dreamcast and I what I like about it is games are still been made today for it via independent developer which u have to pay for and then u have homebrew games Splatter House etc built on the beats of rage platform.
Sales of something doesn't mean anything to the gamers dude it all depends on how happy you are with it example the ds sold more then the psp should people not play the psp? No you like what you want to game on
The Dreamcast has flaws, like faulty drives, thumb sticks which don't centre anymore, faulty contacts between controller and memory unit or they reset themselves. It's FAR away from being flawless.
THIS is the video I was looking for. It's unfair that the PS2 had more success than the dreamcast Just because it could play DVDs. Dreamcast was also way cheaper than the PS2
Lol Sonic pfp. No wonder you think the Dreamcast is better. All it had was Sonic Adventure 1 and 2. Nothing else. They got ported. Why have a Dreamcast at this point?
Soupcannon678 if the Dreamcast never got retired, those games would have never been ported. Also, the Dreamcast had Shenmue, Shenmue II, Phantasy Star Online (a revolution at the time), Jet Set/Grind Radio, the Crazy Taxi games, Virtua Fighter if I’m not wrong, the SEGA Sports games + the 2K sports games and tons of other excellent exclusives
tetsuyanamamura dvds were really popular back in the early 2000s, so having a console that could play also dvds was really convenient. If the Dreamcast had dvd playback too, it would have been the perfect multi media machine
It's just not a very good list. 1. Image quality (480p - clean image quality vs the 480i blurry mess of the PS2) 2. Graphics (razor sharp textures and overall clean graphical style - even than Gamecube) 3. Easier to program for (more competent multi-platform games) 4. Four controller ports (increased variety of games on the system) 5. Unique games (fun, arcade style games a plenty) Bonus: The console itself looks better. (the sleek look of the Dreamcast compared to a boring black box - no contest)
I like the Dreamcast but I have to be honest, PlayStation 2 offers me more games, more years in market.

Of course only had only 10 good games its because of its short lifespan.
Just cuz of the DVD player 🤣
@woolhat1 Thats good but it still doesnt get close to the other consoles.
@@Armando.Sepulveda I never use the DVD player.
Dreamcast just simply loses to any other console of the generation by the short romset.

The Dreamcast was better imagine if the Dreamcast sold just like the ps2
