Your initial introduction is a grave mischaracterization.
No where in the book does he talk about anything like what you mention. Especially in your "white" characterization.
There will be a god enforced by government... do you want it to be pagan or Christian?

I tried to get through this book and I just couldn’t finish it. For all the reasons you mentioned it just seems so unbiblical, and anti-gospel and frankly ethnocentrist.
I kept thinking to myself “Is this what Jesus died for? This was his dying vision?” No way.
Can’t wait to read Jesus and the Powers.

Why do you guys want monarchy or dictatorship lol. Like every major massacre and genocide is done via those forms of government. Ussr, nazism, roman empire the list goes on. You can't name a single modern democracy thats done anything as bad as the worse monarchies/dictatorships. I agree that a great king is far better than a great democracy. But a bad democracy is no where near as bad as a bad monarchy. The person who should be King is Christ.

Bird has misread Wolfe's book in obvious but important ways. First, it's a book about Protestant "political" theory, it's not about evangelism. Secondly, it's applied to an American context. Thirdly, it's about theory "in principle" -- which Bird seems to miss at every turn.. Fourthly, he's addressing history before the United States existed and how the U.S. actually operated for a couple hundred years prior to the Post WWII Consensus. Wolfe doesn't advocate for any such thing as a White ethno-State. Bird should stick to pecking Bird seed.
He's a Christian who doesn’t want to live in a Christian nation with Christian rulers. Apparently Christ is King in his heart but no where outside of it.

Dr. Bird I want to say thank you for the book Christianity In Its World. I'm almost done with it and it has been very helpful. The most important revelation I had was how similar the conservative evangelical church is to the ways the Pharisees were (with some Zealot mixed in). This is the same reason why I believe China will go ahead and for good reasons, this is the reason why I strongly feel British Rule at least in our part of the world was good for us, it is also the same reason why I feel there should be racial segregation around the world at a broad level, not at the minute and myopic level to which the Nazis went but at a broad level, not an oppression or control of one group over the other but a separation that is maintained with allowance for individuals across the boundaries who are attracted to each other for some reason or other, I think it is needed for US will be needed for Europe unless things are checked, will be needed by other parts of the world too for their own benefits

Good review and I largely agree. I'm skeptical about what you see as the inoculating effects of cultural Christianity. What does that mean for families? We try to instill a Christian culture in our house including attending to the ministry of word and sacrament and morning and evening prayer. Does that really make it less likely our kids will be Christian? Or what am I missing about what you mean by cultural Christianity?

Great video. After Baptist seminary I landed in a no man’s land until I found work in government for the last 24 years. As a huge fan of the Bill of Rights, a former army reservist and civil servant, I think Mike Bird should write a curriculum on Civics-for-Christians teaching Roger Williams, the Constitution, the art of mission-by-persuasion (not coercion), the Golden Rule, the Great Commission, and any other topics that could correct, rebuke, exhort and inform the laity about the value of separation of powers, Christ and Culture, the two greatest commandments, Abraham Kuyper’s worldview, and Christian democracy. We need old baby boomers to grow up, give up their bottles, stop infantilizing over politics and taxes, and re-learn the basics of civic engagement.
