Nippon Budokan usually referred to as just Budokan, is an indoor arena located in Chiyoda, Tokyo, Japan. On March 1st & 2nd 2014 BABYMETAL performed to shows. The first night was called Red Night and the second Night Black night. The shows styles were different for the two nights (including set lists and outfits). Su-metal performs solo and Yui/Moa perform together (as Black BABYMETAL) without Su. This continued at shows until Yui left the group in 2018. (Many speculate as all the girls were young and the performances very intense it was to allow rest time duirng live shows). Since Yui has left formally Su & Moa have only performed together.

On their 15th birthdays (June 20 for Yui, July 4 for Moa), each girl got to sing the second verse of Headbangeeeeeeer. All of these performances are available on CZcams. 🤘🦊🍅🍔

Yes, this was (obviously) a Su Solo song. Moa and Yui also have solo songs, 'Love Machine' and 'Chokotto Love' respectively. Moa and Yui also perform as a pair, without Su, referred to as 'Black Babymetal'. Their songs are '4 No Uta' (Song 4), 'GJ', 'Onedari Daisakusen ' and 'Sis Anger'. The idea behind the different line ups (Su solos and Black Babymetal) is allow the girls to take breaks during the concerts. Some of the bigger concerts run pretty long and, as you can see, they use up a lot of energy during their performances. While Su is performing her solos, Moa and Yui gat a chance to rest a bit, hydrate and, in general, catch their breath. While Black Babymetal takes the stage, Su is the one taking a break. The Moa and Yui solos were more special events at special concerts and are not part of their normal rotation of songs.

You will hear many suggestions but in reality you really need to do Ijime Dame Zettai from Sonisphere 2014. It is a huge moment in Babymetal history. Besides a single show in Singapore and 2 warm up smaller shows in France Babymetal had not played outside Japan. Then boom at a huge metal fest, known for harsh reactions to bands, there to see Maiden and then 3 young teen Japanese girl’s and some dudes in white hit the stage. It is the moment Babymetal took off outside Japan.

⚡ 💀 💕 / 🔴 🌙 This was the performance that sold me on BABYMETAL. I liked them after seeing the 'Gimme Chocolate' video, but Su's solos at Budokan made me a die-hard fan. The guitarists that night were Leda Cygnus (left) and Takayoshi Ohmura (right). Both are worth checking out on their own rights. I've said it before, but Su doesn't need to fear any of the pyrotechnics because she is fire herself. A cool thing about 'Akatsuki'. It's written by combining the characters for "Red" and "Moon". Which helps explain the red moon imagery BABYMETAL uses in many of their concerts. In the track listing, the character "Kurenai" (deep red or crimson) is used instead of "Red", probably as a tribute to the X-Japan song with that name.

The long version of "Catch Me If You Can" has a great Kami Band intro. "Catch Me If You Can BABYMETAL BLACK NIGHT LEGEND DOOMSDAY" the same concert you just reacted to at Budokan. Bad Ass...

Hey Paul! Awesome reaction! "Akatsuki" means "Crimson Moon" and this was played at the Budokan Arena where they did two nights called Red Night and Black Night. Different set lists, different costumes even. Akatsuki is a song about lost love and broken hearts: "In the silence, the two damaged blades stand face to face. Our loneliness and our uneasiness slash even our hearts. / Going over thousands of nights, some love shall survive. So, until my body perishes, until my life disappears, I shall keep on cherishing this love." The damaged blade is a metaphor for a teenage broken heart. Here's my suggestions for next reactions: "Ijime, Dame, Zettai" Live at Sonisphere 2014 UK - This was the last song of their first big show in the west. They were supposed to play a small side stage but got bumped up to the main stage. The girls were terrified how the UK metal heads would react to them. "Rondo of Nightmare" with Mischiefs of God Intro Budokan Black Night - Also a Su solo from the same concert, but this really shows off the Kami Band Yui and Moa do have some songs they perform without Su as "Black Babymetal". Love your reaction videos! BTW this one is pronounced "ah-kot-ski" and it's a great song. But but but, the power of the band and a hauntingly good vocal performance is Rondo of Nightmare with the Mischief of the God's intro. That absolutely should be the next one. This will be Su solo again but it's a stellar performance. Megitsune after that. And sometimes Black Babymetal will be mentioned, this is Yui and Moa without Su. There are about 4 songs that they do, and they are a bit different from anything you have seen so far. I personally like Onedari Daisakusen a lot. They also have 4 no Uta, Gj, Sis Anger. I think Onedari is probably the most different from the rest. And another outstanding official video is Distortion. You loved Karate, so you will love Distortion as well. I love what you are doing and if you keep asking for suggestions we will keep sending them! I can't wait, 17 days and counting for my first time seeing them in concert. I'm going to the first US show in Orlando Florida on September 4th. I am stoked! Oh and a bit of bad news, rumor has it that they don't make the pops for Babymetal anymore. Tonight, I was listening to some of their earlier songs as background music while surfing CZcams. The song: Gimme Chocolate!! on their official video published on Feb 26, 2014 … I actually heard the other 2 girls singing voice - alone - and not as a chorus... Believe it or not, this is a love song, the way she sings at 110% of her voice range and power, display all her desperation for losing her beloved and her stubborn wish to keep her love alive nonetheless. You can feel the tenderness again when she lower her voice in the slow parts and then all her strength when she goes on the higher notes, the way she interprets this song gives me goosebumps every single time. The reason why she looks at her finger is a common belief in Japan, that two beloved are tethered together by a red thread tied to their small fingers.
While Su-metal sing solo, other two girls take break. When Su-Metal take break, other two girls sing their song as duo as BLACK BABYMETAL. I will never understand people comparing Band Maid to BabyMetal. Two different styles of music, and as much as I like both bands, Band Maid musically isn´t better than BabyMetal as you are implying, they are different and equally amazing. There is no point trying to diminish one band just because you prefer another. I´ve seen both live by the way, and they are awesome.
@@JohnPMatias16 Some of them were Babymetal fans who got upset and changed their allegiance when Yui first disappeared and her absence was so badly handled - they are just bitter and come onto Babymetal reaction videos to promote Band Maid but can't justify that (especially to themselves I suspect) without saying something nasty or without a put down of some sort.
@@Grington300 Maybe that is the case. I also was sad when Yui left, when Mikio died and was worried for the band throughout 2018, there was clearly something missing. I feel it was a transition year. They are now more energetic than ever, with new music to match, and the girls look as happy as ever. The BabyMetal of now, is the fun, fresh and heavy BabyMetal they have always been, and I for one am very excited for the new album. I wish people would stop thinking about what happened to Yui, as sad as it is to see her go, BabyMetal is still here, and they are stronger than ever. Mikio and Yui (for different reasons offcourse) will always be missed, and they will always be part of the One.

Hey Paul! Awesome reaction! "Akatsuki" means "Crimson Moon" and this was played at the Budokan Arena where they did two nights called Red Night and Black Night. Different set lists, different costumes even. Akatsuki is a song about lost love and broken hearts: "In the silence, the two damaged blades stand face to face. Our loneliness and our uneasiness slash even our hearts. / Going over thousands of nights, some love shall survive. So, until my body perishes, until my life disappears, I shall keep on cherishing this love." The damaged blade is a metaphor for a teenage broken heart.
Here's my suggestions for next reactions:
"Ijime, Dame, Zettai" Live at Sonisphere 2014 UK - This was the last song of their first big show in the west. They were supposed to play a small side stage but got bumped up to the main stage. The girls were terrified how the UK metal heads would react to them.
"Rondo of Nightmare" with Mischiefs of God Intro Budokan Black Night - Also a Su solo from the same concert, but this really shows off the Kami Band

Love your reaction videos! BTW this one is pronounced "ah-kot-ski" and it's a great song. But but but, the power of the band and a hauntingly good vocal performance is Rondo of Nightmare with the Mischief of the God's intro. That absolutely should be the next one. This will be Su solo again but it's a stellar performance. Megitsune after that. And sometimes Black Babymetal will be mentioned, this is Yui and Moa without Su. There are about 4 songs that they do, and they are a bit different from anything you have seen so far. I personally like Onedari Daisakusen a lot. They also have 4 no Uta, Gj, Sis Anger. I think Onedari is probably the most different from the rest. And another outstanding official video is Distortion. You loved Karate, so you will love Distortion as well. I love what you are doing and if you keep asking for suggestions we will keep sending them! I can't wait, 17 days and counting for my first time seeing them in concert. I'm going to the first US show in Orlando Florida on September 4th. I am stoked! Oh and a bit of bad news, rumor has it that they don't make the pops for Babymetal anymore. Also, acceptable is the more formal ah - kah - tsu - key "crimson moon." can do a similar contraction with kitsune, which Su does sometimes right after the "we are... Babymetal!" endings. Kitsune Up!

The song: Gimme Chocolate!! on their official video published on Feb 26, 2014 … I actually heard the other 2 girls singing voice - alone - and not as a chorus... Believe it or not, this is a love song, the way she sings at 110% of her voice range and power, display all her desperation for losing her beloved and her stubborn wish to keep her love alive nonetheless. You can feel the tenderness again when she lower her voice in the slow parts and then all her strength when she goes on the higher notes, the way she interprets this song gives me goosebumps every single time.
The reason why she looks at her finger is a common belief in Japan, that two beloved are tethered together by a red thread tied to their small fingers.

Other than when Yui and Moa sing their duo songs, there are videos out there of Yui and Moa getting to sing the last bit of Headbanger when it’s their birthday. There is a very recent one of Moa from a year ago I think. Legend M 2019 might be the concert name? Worth looking up but I don’t think CZcams would let you react to it because dmca stuff

I will never understand people comparing Band Maid to BabyMetal. Two different styles of music, and as much as I like both bands, Band Maid musically isn´t better than BabyMetal as you are implying, they are different and equally amazing. There is no point trying to diminish one band just because you prefer another. I´ve seen both live by the way, and they are awesome.

@@Grington300 Maybe that is the case. I also was sad when Yui left, when Mikio died and was worried for the band throughout 2018, there was clearly something missing. I feel it was a transition year. They are now more energetic than ever, with new music to match, and the girls look as happy as ever. The BabyMetal of now, is the fun, fresh and heavy BabyMetal they have always been, and I for one am very excited for the new album. I wish people would stop thinking about what happened to Yui, as sad as it is to see her go, BabyMetal is still here, and they are stronger than ever. Mikio and Yui (for different reasons offcourse) will always be missed, and they will always be part of the One.
