- In this video, I am MONSTER crappie fishing in 1 foot of water! The Texas Crappie Spawn of 2022 is heating up! I am crappie fishing with a bobber and live minnows under a slip float. This is the perfect crappie rig setup for shallow water fishing during the crappie spawn. This is a great example on how to catch crappie in shallow water. Crappie will find structure during the spawn in shallow coves and against the bank. They want to feel protected when they make their beds. Crappie fishing Texas has some of the best crappie fishing in my opinion, especially in the spring. You need to get out there and catch these spawning crappie! I hope yall enjoyed this video!

I just joined! My biggest crappie was 2.75 lbs and nothing else measured up since. I live in New England so mostly I fish in ma, RI and Connecticut. Never catch pre spawn crappie because I donât have a boat and spawning crappie are only available from a boat.

lol great video, but a bass fisherman for sure muscling crappie like that.đ when I herd you say 10lbs. tess line for crappie I should have known, why even use such great poles, and reals with frankly to heavy a line weight? Would have been sow much more fun with 4-6lbs line, could have really felt that fight baby!
I do not bass fish. I use braid for my reel and mono as a leader. I am a crappie fisherman. Fishing for crappie you will mostly be fishing around structure, if you get hung up, usually the line breaks at the leader, so you wonât have to rig up your whole set up. Everything is for a reason. Me and the family went to the villages earlier but the only thing we caught was shad for bait. You ever had any luck below the spillway of striker? Besides the alligators the fishing is pretty good.

New to crappie fishing, whats the benefits of the leader vs no leader?
If anyone could help, it would be appreciated. Thanks
I use the leader because especially fishing for crappie you are more then likely going to be fishing around structure. Whether itâs deep or shallow. If you get hung up, with my slip cork setup, more then likely you will only break off the leader. So you will only have to re tie leader and crappie hook/jig head. Vs having to re rig your entire setup. I usually fish with braid on the reel. I have a video on my âhow toâ playlist if you want to check it out, on how I rig my slip cork setup! Thanks for watching!
