The holos and silver borders are dope imo. I’ve always like the Japanese way of doing it. The silver borders kinda feel like they’re all promos though, or special event cards but I digress. What the real crime is are the new Pokémon. Lazy designs, uninspired names, and extremely lame legendaries (they keep getting worse). Ryan’s right about those, and don’t get me started on the pull rates. The rarest card in this set is 50$ (excluding the waifu). There should also be more holos to pull considering most people triple up on em in a box

Silver borders are a huge change but I feel like they will grow on everyone, love the reactions to the new Pokémon lol
Silvers boarders on the cards do look strange but they are also clean, yellow boarders felt jarring by comparison. Was very apparant with the Galarian bird promos from crown zenith, yellow looked gross on them.

Been looking forward to seeing you open some s/v! The english regular ex's imo need better print quality, compared to the japanese ones they're dulled/washed out and the star holo is harder to see. The illustration rares are fire though 🔥

Having sets that our worth nothing is not a good thing when Boxes cost over a $120. I don't Get collectors at want set to be so d*** cheap and card to be so d*** cheap. That's why they make 2 versions of the car's one cheap to play the game with and the other 1 expensive to collect.

@guusgeurts446 not even sure how u can say that when all sets have gone up in value lol? Isn't that a dumb saying. Who collects things and doesn't want value from collecting them. There's collectors and players. Obviously even Ryan himself is a collector wanting the value from the product the person ur watching as u can see all of his stored products... I guess people like u should want to bounce over to metazoo so u can buy the full set for 12$. Not saying every card needs to be 100$ but should be 1 very sought after card in each set that is a collectable when paying premium for boxes.
High value cards do not hurt the collecting either go out and open your high value card yourself. I think having to spend 1000$ to get that high valued card justifies why some card values are high. I opened 3 sleeved cases of evolving skies and didn't get a moonbreon yet spent a premium. So why would I want my moonbreon to be dirt cheap if I did get 1 after spending so much trying to
Yeah I like the set, the pull rates look pretty good, the new reverses are cool, the chase cards are cool - I’m into it. Some of the new Pokémon are cool, some are horrendous as usual 😂 and skeledirge is an abomination but I like the set/some of the changes

Weird to even think about Pokémon cards not being around in the future but I hope they listen to the consumers’ suggestions and fix the glaring issues before that becomes a possibility.

I pulled the kingambit as well during pre release, one of the best looking cards in the set!
I’m glad they added guaranteed holos to each pack. Because the alternative was a price increase with no change to the packs at all. Plus, and probably more importantly, now whenever the kids open up the packs, they’ll never be disappointed that they didn’t get anything in them.
They improved the pull rates big time! Before it was 1 secret rare per box maybe 2 if you are super lucky and 3 if all the star are in a line and you do a blood sacrifice!
But i just opened 3bb and each had 4 plus some ilustration arts.
If thats the future then oh boy i already am hooked!
Also i am missing like 4 reverses for my master set so the double reverse thing is a blessing!

This is going to take some getting used to for sure. The Gardevoir ex line is cool with the family and quilts, as I am a quilter. Hoping to get them and the Feucoco line.
The reverse holos are pretty. I opened a booster box and had a hefty stack of them.
I actually kind of like this set so far, but I've only got a few chases and once I pull them it's back to hunting for the Giratina Alt Art from Lost Origin.
always fun watching Ryan struggle when opening packs he's not keen on but he still does it and with a smile and a laugh makes it worth while. Keep up the great content Ryan and looking forward to some more S&V openings lol

Just opened my first ETB and I gotta agree with you Ryan the cards are more expensive but feel cheaper now. I could be crazy but they feel lighter and the silver/ gray border doesn't look good they need to take a step back because this isn't it

I love your commentary of this set 😂 I do like this set cause I’ve played the games it does make a little more sense overall, but definitely going back to older sets to open some of those vintage packs but I definitely wanna open some to see it
i got 17 hit in my box including 4 gold (sadly the koridon not the miridon). plus 2 of the silver gyarados and 1 silver arcanine, plus my special art was the Iron treads. Would have loved the Special arg Gardi but cant complain.
I think you are one of the good pokemon streamers. You bring somthing diffrent to table the others are just a little plane. It's good how you open older sets more often then others

Opened up an etb this morning from the EU supply, all code cards as black not white like rev has said, one ex pull and nothing else
My coworker opened a box today and sent me a pic of the illustration rare Miriam and Gardevoir ex. Pull rates have been crazy for this set.

I just bought a box of this set for 130 at my local shop. It’s fun because it’s new. The silver borders are odd though. Also the holos with border are misleading. It’s tough to peek and think you got something good. Nonetheless I love the return of EX and the illustration rares are sick. I got a gold fighting energy in my box along with 4 EX and a mountain of holos and reverses and drowsy illustration. TBH I like sword and shield more. The joy of getting a solid pull was greater and the Pokemon themselves are way cooler. Not sure if I’ll buy this set anymore. I’m going back to S&S.

It was fucking brutal but he is right in some ways, they're charging more but ultimately you're not getting more value for your money. These booster boxes are near double what boxes used to sell for before this became a scalper's hobby.
In terms of designs, whatever he's entitled to his opinions, personally I only care about the black star promos in English because of the Cosmo foil borders.
