I read a recent article saying that a cross section of Jon's fans aren't happy with his current music...that it's too controversial, well he responded in kind and made no apologies for writing from his heart reflecting on our current times. If you don't appreciate Jon's music then you are NOT a fan. Someone has to bring a voice to how so many of us are feeling in this mess of a country we find ourselves in. I for one, have always been a fan and will continue to support Jon, the band and all they have done to shine a light on what's happening through their music.

When you are a sucessful person like JBJ, and you achieved what put you in the top, you can write what makes you feel the most satisfaction, even if some people do not like you now, maybe you could get some new fans, new people who wants to listen what you want to say.
I will always be a Bon Jovi fan. All of his music is good. I believe that he shows that being a big rock star doesn’t mean everything is all partying and sex and drugs and rock n roll. It shows that he didn’t forget where he came from, he has his Soul Kitchen that he actually works in to help out less fortunate. His music shows that he has empathy and compassion and really cares for his fellow man, the common people. 👍👍👍

I'm in tears right now. I'm from El Paso Texas and go to that Walmart on a daily basis. That day I woke up late and didn't go. When the news of the shooting started flooding social media I collapsed to the floor. I could hear sirens blaring for what seemed like hours. When I saw the news footage on TV I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Fear suddenly set in. I realized that I was safe ,but what about my family. I started calling everyone. One by one my brothers and sisters answered their phones except one of my brothers. He usually takes my dad to by groceries at that Walmart on Saturdays. I couldn't leave my house to check on them because the shooter was still out somewhere in streets. It wasn't safe. I kept calling my brother until he finally answered the phone. They were safe and unaware of what had happened. I told him to turn the TV on. He was shocked at what he saw and then said that they had just left that Walmart. Thank you Jon Bon Jovi for caring about us and putting our emotions and experience in your song.

Like "American Reckoning", "Blood in the Water" and "Unbroken", some of Jon's best and most poignant lyrics that will be a time capsule of how we should be remembering those who hurt and suffer the most, be it the Veterans, those who suffer from racism or xenophobia, or those who can't even go to school, the movies or a concert without worrying about being murdered. Then after that got married and during marriage complications “till ain’t strangers anymore”, during professional complications listening “welcome wherever you’re” and now trying to migrate North America and listening to this. I've never cried over a Bon Jovi song before, but this really hit me in the heart. I have 2 sons and in 2011, my oldest nearly lost his life in Afghanistan by an IED. Last November his younger brother was critically injured in a construction accident involving 6,000 lbs of steel. I never thought being a mom would be so hard after they're grown and on their own.
Many of the songs on this album have such power and cut to the essence of what is going on in this country. Harkens back to the power of some of what I remember of the songs of the 60s and early 70s.

some of these comments say Jon has gone too country or he's lost his roots to what music he played in the beginning BUT with time and age comes wisdom. The new music reflects life today the reality that we currently live in. Music that is stuff of dreams isn't as deeply touching as such things like what they put out today. Most artists today are rehashing lost love or break up songs or the what if kind of things. However, true artists can reach into the heart and soul of the listener and tug at the emotions bringing laughter or tears. There have only been a few that have honestly written songs that cross boundaries and languages to make a difference to nations. My favorites they sing of this recent times are Walls and Blood in the water. They really make one think how all humans hold value no matter their nationality or skin color. Will heaven have boundaries bridges or walls that separate all the people and angels there?
