  • www.truthforlife.org || By: Alistair Begg - “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Alistair Begg explains that the fear of the Lord is humility, trust, confidence, and obedience grounded in the love that He has shown us in Christ. Because the Lord Jesus is the wisdom and righteousness of God, true wisdom can only be found in knowing Him. The duty of Christian parents is to train children in godly wisdom so that they are equipped with a foundation for living and hope for the future.

Mothers have the patience and love to teach over and over the edicts of Jesus and how we must obey them in order to live with wisdom/ success, only to have the deaf ears opened in distant adulthood. Dr. Begg : a font of God given clarity, extraordinarily widely well read, witty, patient: dissects God's word so that we understand how to live it NOW. Marvelous Teacher! Praises!

I love the Lord and all of his wonderful, glorious qualities. His consistancy gives be so much peace in my soul. You can always, always trust God and count on his faithfulness because he is always, always consistent.

Excellent Word, but I would argue that you should not leave terror out of the definition of fear because sheer terror awaits fools who despise wisdom and instruction.

I absolutely appreciate Pastor Begg's sermons and the wisdom and moral seriousness he exhibits, so in that light I humbly offer the observation that one ought to be careful to distinguish the concepts of knowledge and wisdom (especially in Proverbs), even in ethical terms. You can have either without the other, although it is of course better to have both. Understanding is a different concept too!

The realty of who he is, the almighty creator and the lamb sacrificed because he loves us. Who can grasp this? You’re right there has to be a relationship. I love him, but I really like him too.

Raise an Hallelujah! What a comprehensive; enlightened Bible study of The Book of Proverbs. In my Berean Bible study group, we are going to Study the Book of Proverbs this Fall season. Pastor Begg you have provided me much to ponder as I remain open & receptive to God's Will for my life at soon to be age 69 years. To God be the Glory Forever and Ever❣️🙏

29 Oh that they had such a heart as this always, to fear me and to keep all my commandments, that it might go well with them and with their descendants forever!
