Onceuponascheme A good singer is when one can engage the listener and portray the story with real emotion. This can be done with little technical ability.
Elly has a beautiful voice, she deserves so much more it's unfair. La Roux is VERY underrated. People should focus on her voice and talents not by her appearance, but sadly, this generation is a lost cause... Sing on Elly :3
I've said it before and I'll say it again... I can't get enough of this woman! Elly continues to amaze me! She's so beautiful, and I love how passionate she is when she sings! I listen to this at least ten times a day...
She may have a very distinct style, but once you really listen to her sing everything else falls to the wayside. Her voice holds enough passion that it overrides any other weakness her voice might have. I've loved her since seeing the Bulletproof music video and In for the Kill music video, but I LOVE the Abbey Roads sessions of every single artist.
I think that La Roux singlehandedly confirmed that I'm gay as shit tbh. I wish more people would get over how she doesn't fit into the social norm and look at how incredible of a musician she really is. She can be whoever she wants to be, and look however she wants, and she'll be drop dead amazing while she does it.
Yeah yeah I’m a 49 yr old woman. My deep deep appreciation and love for this song is completely independent of who the singer is or their sexual preference. Good music is just that. Love la roux
i am IN LOVE with this beautiful human being and her beautiful voice and that beautiful soul you can hear when she sings, and see in her face. she herself is a masterpiece work of art. everything about her.
The pain, the suffering, the resolve, the willpower, the determination to pull through and carry on have always been strongly palpable to me in this song.
Been there, done that, messed around I'm having fun, don't put me down I'll never let you sweep me off my feet I won't let you in again The messages I've tried to send My information's just not going in Burning bridges shore to shore I'll break away from something more I'm not turned on to love until it's cheap Been there, done that, messed around I'm having fun, don't put me down I'll never let you sweep me off my feet This time, baby, I'll be Bulletproof This time, baby, I'll be Bulletproof I won't let you turn around And tell me now I'm much too proud To walk away from something when it's dead Do, do, do your dirty words Come out to play when you are heard There's certain things that should be left unsaid Tick, tick, tick, tick on the watch And life's too short for me to stop Oh, baby, your time is running out I won't let you turn around And tell me now I'm much too proud All you do is fill me up with doubt This time, baby, I'll be Bulletproof This time, baby, I'll be Bulletproof This time, baby, I'll be Bulletproof This time, baby, I'll be Bulletproof This time baby I'll be Bulletproof This time baby I'll be Bulletproof This time, baby, I'll be Bulletproof This time, baby, I'll be Bulletproof This time, baby, I'll be Bulletproof This time, baby, I'll be Bulletproof I needed the lyrics to sing this. I just love the acoustic version the most. Such a good singer and song in its own artistic way. It just suit my situation now.
I think she is beautiful. And...who are these assholes that are voting thumbs down? I would put money on it that they haven't put themselves out there to be judged.
Why are there no comments on this..? I kinda like it when artists do these versions. An acoustic version of something so heavily electronic is refreshing sometimes. Even if a note or two is off I really don't mind; at least it's not autotuned to bits.
Am I watching the same video as everyone else? Elly Jackson has trouble hitting the notes she does in the studio version. She knows that too, which is why she is rushing the entire song in this version. Now with that being said, the piano player is good. She plays her style consistently, while doing a nice job of keeping with whatever tempo the singer is trying to sing at. Overall I'm not going to listen to this version again, and I feel like they could have done a cleaner job with this acoustic endeavor. Especially on the basis alone, that this is one of La Roux's most familiar songs.
I agree mostly, the piano is perfect but I think this may be around the time Elly was developing vocal issues so I think we should cut her some slack on not hitting all the notes
+Lost Stuff I mean don't get me wrong I understand where she was as an artist and what position she was in with her voice, all I'm saying is that this acoustic version is not as good, much less any better, than the original. I'm a fan, and I continue to listen to La Roux, but the idea of creating an acoustic version is to give a new feel to the song that it didn't not have originally. I feel like this was an unsatisfying attempt. Granted recording this with the whole voice issue- well to that I say, as an artist she made her decision.
+Lucas Southerland i understand what your saying but i think she preformed in for the kill and bulletproof like this to draw more attention to the lyrics as in the originals theres more distraction
I love seeing when an artist is performing raw, no studio effects, no editing, no breaks. When you can see a artist has captured the true emotion in order to perform with theirs hearts regardless of what others think. This is how your able to tell real music from the duplicated.
She has such a beautiful voice, unlike all of the 'popular' artists we have today who depend on distorting their voice. And her unique style makes me even a bigger fan.
I saw her live at the KCMO LGBT+ 2010 Pride event with my ex-fiancee and she did an amazing job at the event. However, I love this version of this song the best because she really shows her full emotion while singing. Wow, you go girl!!
i love the original, because it's very bubbly and uplifting, but this, oh man THIS is dirty and crawling. it really hits me in the bluesy piece of my heart.
Her voice isn't necessarily strong but something about it seriously pulls at your heart strings
Onceuponascheme A good singer is when one can engage the listener and portray the story with real emotion. This can be done with little technical ability.
ITS STRONGER THAN THE HULK G
It's a pretty strong voice not very soulful or controlled but emotive nonetheless
That means her voice is strong
It’s mad strong wtf you on about
underrated talent
electric_magnetic
Not really... Even Terry from the bus stop knows.
Strangefacekid the talent or underrated part
trur
Dude, she's world famous.
A voice doesn't necessarily have to be strong when you put your soul into it 👍
Just look at Billie Eilish
@@darienhighyea she is just whispering
Elly has a beautiful voice, she deserves so much more it's unfair. La Roux is VERY underrated. People should focus on her voice and talents not by her appearance, but sadly, this generation is a lost cause... Sing on Elly :3
Truly she's got a great voice but people focus on her looks. I think she looks awsome
Blaming a lack of attention/success on "this generation" is one of the most profoundly stupid comments I've ever seen.
tienes toda la razón, no la supieron valorar por su talento.
She’s mediocre at best. I’m guessing her parents are rich and influential. They bought her a career.
I luv this version. It shows the real feelings of the song.
Best version of this song, hands down.
Yes, God!
She sang her heart out, it's palpable. It is to me. I get goosebumps every time I hear her.
Times flies by too fast when we get older, appreciation is key.
Love her ❤
Heck yeah I love this song. This rendition Is just lovely
I think she's the first artist I've liked every song and every version of...
addicted to this version
she's so tilda swinton + rupert grint *_*
love this song
I've said it before and I'll say it again... I can't get enough of this woman!

Cassie Townsend I fucking love this. Get in there dove.
Yeah yeah I’m a 49 yr old woman. My deep deep appreciation and love for this song is completely independent of who the singer is or their sexual preference. Good music is just that. Love la roux

Фантастика, обожаю La Roux!!!

Pure raw real power!
Honestly riveting!
Elly you are indeed an artist and I am indeed an admirer.
I will listen to this often. Thank you very much.
8 years from now and it’s STILL a bop

Hurts my heart that I've never gotten to see La Roux live - she is truly incredible
beautiful!
I shedded a tear her singing is awesome I wish she would make more song's but she's bin of the grid for a while
Pulls the love and the pain into the open with astounding ease. A real voice.
She is adorable! And her voice is amazing! Stop commenting about her look and listen to this such a beautiful song!
Been there, done that, messed around
I'm having fun, don't put me down
I'll never let you sweep me off my feet
I won't let you in again
The messages I've tried to send
My information's just not going in
Burning bridges shore to shore
I'll break away from something more
I'm not turned on to love until it's cheap
Been there, done that, messed around
I'm having fun, don't put me down
I'll never let you sweep me off my feet
This time, baby, I'll be
Bulletproof
This time, baby, I'll be
Bulletproof
I won't let you turn around
And tell me now I'm much too proud
To walk away from something when it's dead
Do, do, do your dirty words
Come out to play when you are heard
There's certain things that should be left unsaid
Tick, tick, tick, tick on the watch
And life's too short for me to stop
Oh, baby, your time is running out
I won't let you turn around
And tell me now I'm much too proud
All you do is fill me up with doubt
This time, baby, I'll be
Bulletproof
This time, baby, I'll be
Bulletproof
This time, baby, I'll be
Bulletproof
This time, baby, I'll be
Bulletproof
This time baby
I'll be
Bulletproof
This time baby
I'll be
Bulletproof
This time, baby, I'll be
Bulletproof
This time, baby, I'll be
Bulletproof
This time, baby, I'll be
Bulletproof
This time, baby, I'll be
Bulletproof

I was listening to this in my room and when it finished i was heard it playin on the radio lol
She’s brilliant!
I love the sound of this band and this woman's voice. It's so.... unique. It definitely adds some real flavour to the bland world of music nowadays.
Good version.
I think she is beautiful. And...who are these assholes that are voting thumbs down? I would put money on it that they haven't put themselves out there to be judged.
Mickey is honestly a phenomenal keyboard player
je l'ai découverte par hasard et j'aime beaucoup!
une voix..................
un style qui se fais vraiment rare!
Why are there no comments on this..?

elly and micki are both perfect kthanx bye
she sings like an angel !
so she sings just as good as on the video? genuinely thought it was over auto tuned, i'm impressed.
Man, these English musicians are really talented
A-fuckin-mazing!!!
Beauty. In it's purest form. Enough said.
amazing. love her voice.
A young Annie Lennox?
i wish she could sing this a full step slower
+Blue Beta If you prefer that, you should check out Ariel Sabaj's cover of this song!
+rolloRoel this was good advice
maybe she got to be somewhere
Blue Beta I think it's perfect, but I'd love to hear that as well
Blue Beta
I loooove her voice.

Lucas Southerland Completely agree!!

+Silver Boylan Your comment added absolutely nothing to this conversation.

could not possibly LOVE this more.
shes genius.. fucking amazing .... her style is HER ...individuality
I she going flat as a improvisational choice? If not, that was a terrible performance.
Her and Miley have the same voice kind of.
Loved to see songs stripped down like this...a brave thing to do Elly...raw and emotional...Nice One !
how beautiful.
It's a shame, this song lends itself so well for a jazzy version, but the piano plays a really boring and generic tune.
I agree, the piano is boring. But her voice is fantastic.
this time..this sucks.
Love her voice, love this song, this is music: a voice, an instrument, melody. Period.
im obsessed with la roux no joke i love her !!!!!!!!!!
i needed this so bad... her voice is so beautiful

Inspiring in a different context.... I guess it's the piano. Stirs positive, productive emotions.
I adore this version! I always feel like dancing to the other version, but this one touches my heart.
Ikr
I love this song!
Very nice! A voice and a piano. That's all you need. No auto tune. :)
Wonderful!!
so vulnerable, so honest
so great!!
Absolutely wonderful... feels like heaven!
Elly has such a beautiful voice ♥

Love this
She has such a beautiful voice, unlike all of the 'popular' artists we have today who depend on distorting their voice. And her unique style makes me even a bigger fan.
Stunning, lovely performance. Elly has such a wonderful voice and also very good presence.
I saw her live at the KCMO LGBT+ 2010 Pride event with my ex-fiancee and she did an amazing job at the event. However, I love this version of this song the best because she really shows her full emotion while singing. Wow, you go girl!!
La Roux........ WOW.

HOLY CRAP her voice is beautiful...
She is so much better than all the mainstream artists in America... she shows true talent and she doesn't promote stupidity and disgusting sex.
This certainly is as good as the original , and as was pointed out in previous comments It's got soul to it ❤
She is so wonderful
Wow I love that song
i love the original, because it's very bubbly and uplifting, but this, oh man THIS is dirty and crawling. it really hits me in the bluesy piece of my heart.
