Watching this in the USA- Our version of Wheel could take a few hints from this one. This seems so much more relaxed and fun than our version, mainly because the host doesn't think he's too good to actually interact with the contestants beyond an opening interview where he barely lets them speak. Pat Sajak was good in his prime, but it ain't hard to tell he's about had it with the show. I'd love it if Tim Campbell would host our version- he handles the show like an old pro.

Finally!!! I've been waiting so long for a full episode of this version of Wheel of Fortune to come up! This was definitely the most interesting WoF show I know; too bad it was short lived, but if it weren't for this, the US version wouldn't have implemented the million dollar wedge at all.

  • @braydensweatherquizzingcom4705

I heard that when Marks Challenger Andrew Perry spun up the $1 Million Dollar Wedge and I loved it when host Tim Campbell shouted (IT'S THE MILLION DOLLAR WEDGE, WOWZER)

It was short lived but without it, the US will never have the MDW or crown Michelle Loewenstein as millionaire. Lng live the Million Dollar Wheel.

@Marcusmcl100 The idea for the Million Dollar Wedge was created in America. It was first seen in play in Australia.

Well there were a few reasons it didn't work out. First off, moving it from Seven to Nine meant it went slap bang against Deal or No Deal on Seven, which trounced MDW in the ratings, there was also the fact that Burgo didn't like this version, calling it "dry". In contrast, Adriana Xenides (RIP) liked it. I mean, who wouldn't want a wheel like that when broadcasting in HD?

I always thought the US wheel was WAY too tight, as they rarely get the wheel all the way around these days. Then I saw this. The thing spins so long that there's time for light banter from the host (which is annoying but needed to fill the audio space) and for the audience applause to completely die down.

Bloody channel 9 getting rid of these bloody amazing shows. Now they've got bloody renovation crap that no one watches.

@whammy850 Basically, I think any of Aussie WoF's hosts (Except Barber or Sigley, of course) would be a good choice here in the States.
We can obviously see what Campbell's got, Emdur tends to "race horse" the Wheel like Woolery, and John Burgess has the bulk of experience on his side.

America must be doing something right, because we're always mentioned, even when we had nothing to do with anything.

tehDalahast I've never seen ANY foreign version of Wheel have contestants SCREAM their letters. To be fair, most early U.S. Wheel episodes, especially Chuck/Susan-era, didn't have contestants screaming their letters, either.

Also, it seems the Australians don't encourage the contestants to scream at the top of their lungs. Goddamn, I hate that.

Well the concept was good pitty it didn't last it was one of the game show flops of channel 9 but it did outlast the power of 10 by 23 episodes mdwof made 25 the power of 10 made 2 I think that would be the shortest run of a gameshow in Australia but I loved the set I enjoyed watching all 25 mdwof I was sad when it went but never mind gameshows keep coming and going I'm Australian and I loved it thank u!!!!

would all the $ 200,000 wedges have been replaced by million dollar wedges?

      @braydensweatherquizzingcom4705 Před 4 lety +1

Oh, I wish their could be 9 $200,000 wedges tonight. But that wedge will be replaced with a Million Dollar Wedge, make it 8 $200,000 Wedges. But if Andrew Solves this bonus round puzzle, he goes home as an instant millionaire.

I don't get that impression from Pat Sajak in the least. There is, however, considerably less time for him to interact with the contestants as more and more of the show time gets taken up by longer commercial breaks and in-show commercials/promos as is the case with every show in recent years.

Personally while I’m a huge WOF fan, the wheel itself took way too long to stop imo.

It shouldn’t even been moved from channel seven as wheel of fortune was much better on channel seven with a classic set and better hosts John Burgess Rob Elliott Adriana Xenides was fantastic co host and Sophie Faulkner too If the show was to come back again John Burgess should be host while he is fit

@whammy850 Honestly, I didn't really like this version. The puzzles were ridiculously easy to solve, and it really lacked the charm of the original Wheel of Fortune that aired on Seven. Tim was an okay host, but compared to previous hosts (especially Burgo and IMHO Rob Elliott), he was kinda lacklustre.
