I like this drama. The costume set is great too though we know those costumes aren't what the ancient royals wear but it's fantastic.
Did they fix the eng subs, or is it just in these clips? When I watched it the subs were good in MyAsianTv but I had to keep coming back here since one of these channels played the longer version. Most have the international (shorter)version.

That's just the way things were back then. Pharoahs married their siblings. In Europe the royalty were called "blue bloods" because they "kept it in the family" so as not to taint the royal lineage. Everywhere it was like this and not thought of twice. Just the way it was. They didn't know about DNA and how it affected children to be inbred, etc etc.

This is Tang Dynasty. Japan copied a lot from China during this period. Concurrent with this is the Heian Period in Japan. Kyoto was a copy of the Tang capital.
