This reminds me of when I was a nipper and we'd play outside. There'd always be a few children who had cousins from abroad and would bring little sweets outside for us to try. Sort of familiar but unfamiliar and unsettling lol This little Chinese boy used to have these strange little sweet milky chews with Rabbits on the wrappers - deliciousness.

Sarah, near me, the town of Pontefract was famous for liquorice. Sweet manufacturers employed one part of the families, and the others mostly working as coal miners. One sweet factory was bought by German company Haribo.
Yorkshire also had several other manufacturers that have been bought up, their best sellers forming much of the big European brand varieties. Whey Hilbert from History With Hilbert made a joke about one recently, I commented that he should do a history of Yorkshire sweet manufacturers.
I discovered Mars Almond in US. I believe it is now called Snickers Almond? Not one I had seen in UK.
The coal mines have gone now and ironically my old university friend Alok Sharma recently pressed the button to blow up the local coal fired power station. The sweet factories are still here. One gives off caramel popcorn smell, which is quite pleasant as you drive into the town.

Oh, what fun! It's interesting to compare snacks from different lands; sometimes there are remarkable similarities that point to origination in another country, though of course there is also plenty of inspiration. It has been observed that food in the US generally reflects the nations of those who settled in it, though over time things have become so particular to the American continent that they would be unfamiliar to the visiting foreigner. Ooo, perhaps therein lies another potential strand for your channel? You study the world in considerable depth; why not taste the world from time to time, if you can make or obtain samples?

I wondered how long before you mentioned Cadbury. Also Smarties are UK treats but Nestlé bought the company that made them.
One of those C's stole the show (no rudeness intended). Also you will be upsetting your loyal Tottenham following.
German food tends to be of good quality. I upset a street vendor when I asked if the delicious smelling beef sausage had any pork in it, for a friend who could not eat pork. When I said it could have in UK, and he laughed "Englander!"

@@markwilliamson2864 penalty: membership in a terrorist organisation, about 10 years of prison, the leaders maybe more; they are serious they are armed, organised, connected and have a wide reach, have FSB connection and support, the combination of AfD politicians bringing in reach and political capital, military officers for organising their military arm and conduct military training in rural areas, one of the plot leader for example was before responsible for bringing serbian war criminals to court and couping other governments. Another plot leader was a famous AfD politician and before then judge in the capital Berlin and her party AfD wanted her to be in the commission of security where all 3 german intelligence branches are supervisied with secred information, the other partys prevented that, but in the entire east the AfD is the leading party in polls, federal wide 15%, state elections will be hard in the east next years.
Yes Germany is a stable democracy and they will be stopped, Germany is a armed democracy, quite resilient and our counter terrorist forces are superb. They would have to take over a lot to really project power. So yes, German democracy is safe, for now.
