Runaway! I brought mine home plugged it in and it sounded like the gears or the magnetron was already bad. I put a cup of water in it to try it out. After 5 minutes the microwave got so hot... 140° .... The temperature sensor inside the microwave activated and shut down the microwave. After it cooled down the front timer light came back on. This model is a fire waiting to happen.

It's described in the manual if you want to cook at reduced power. Hit Cook Time, then 4, then Power Level, then 5 and Start for 50% power.
