Remember a few years ago when VV got in trouble in the news for selling a USED Columbia jacket for full BRAND NEW PRICE $275??? Pretty sure that happened in Ontario.
literally value village sucks! i went to get some frames for some wall art and ended up buying brand new frames from ikea for cheaper. they wanted literally 20$ for old gold-brass coloured frames!! honestly id like to shop second hand more but everyone is trying to make a profit on the smallest things.
Also if things don't sell they cut clothes uo and put the rest in a trash compactor. Which makes their pricing even more evil. Rip those tags and Don't forget the promo code "can you price this for me" you will get the item cheaper because they wanna get it out the door.
@@kelitaroutledge yeah I'm in the Vancouver BC area and the prices are crazy here too and have been for years. I think all the resellers are the ones affecting the prices, VV sees how much they can get now. It royally pisses me off since they get 99% of their inventory for free and thrifts stores were suppose to be for people struggling and can't afford new but some of the prices are insane. I've seen Dollar Tree items for $5 before. Makes me really angry tbh.
Yes Value Village really is fucking rediculpus with their prices that's why some ppl switch tags. Like they get the product FOR FREE.
Ya it is ridiculous. I think people assume that it is for charity but it’s not.
IKR?? Thought I was the only one who noticed this😢
I just don’t understand who is buying second hand clothing at these prices? These clothes were cheaper when they were brand new! 🤦🏼♀️😱

Exactly! It is usually cheaper to buy new! But the crazy thing is that people are still supporting them, so the craziness continues.
I stopped going to thrift stores cuz u can get cheaper on Walmart clearance or other stores n go to clearance items u can get way cheaper prices ..
I totally agree!

@@brikhouse22 it’s total gouging! And it’s hurting the people who depend on thrifting to find the items they need.
