@@alon403because it’s actually not bad, in real life you can look around it and your brain can also block it out. It’s in the perfect spot to where you won’t notice it and it’ll still be a strong support for the canopy. Don’t believe me? Look at F1, they have the same thing and it doesn’t distract the driver at all.

On camera it looks bad, but in real life you’ll be able to see around it. Your brain can probably block most of it out as well. F1 drivers still race fine and they also have a pillar like that, it’s placed in the perfect spot for it to not be a hassle and also be a good support for the canopy.

You don’t notice it at all. Same thing as the F1 cars to save your life if you flip. Just how Koenigseggs have the wiper in the same position. You have to actually sit in it and drive it to understand it.

I often wonder since these types of cars are some of the fastest if the whole fancy canopy thing would be a nightmare to open in a crash for rescuers
I didn’t even think about that, sure there’s a quick release on the inside but if the driver is knocked out and it’s on fire what are they supposed to do? Surely there’s another way to open it.
I would not be surprised if this car is in Le Mans.

I'm not claustrophobic but this just made me feel claustrophobic.
Wow, AC in a track car? That's more amazing than just about anything else, tbh.
I designed something remarkably similar when I was younger but it was a two seater with the passenger behind with side pods containing a 4 rotor on one side and a fuel tank, battery, alternator, steering pump,, and A/C components on the other, (the packaging required a transaxle that picked up power from the engine using a large gear on the input shaft that could be tapped into on the other side to drive the accessories at a direct ratio to engine RPM). And I envisioned the entire cockpit being a modular tub that you could pull out and swap (leaving the pedal box and steering column in place) to go between a luxury GT type interior and a lighter stripped out race interior. Also the canopy top was removable targa style, or the whole canopy could be removed for the formula car experience.
Obviously I never built it but I still think it would be cool.
Why rotary engine? Light weight, compact enough to be aerodynamically shrouded by the front wheel, and F1 tier sound. Also very smooth and with relatively little torque allowing for a relatively light bell housing given the gears tendency to push away from one another at the engine gearbox interface).
