Bad takes and just generally came across as really immature and lazy…it’s nice to know that sometimes you can get a fairly accurate read of someone just based on what they show you online

Parties don’t technically need to select via competition and votes, it’s just the norm. A party can, effectively, select its candidates however it wants to. There’s probably exceptions where certain practices would be banned, but overall parties have heavy amounts of autonomy and internal control.

Yes, but they all have rules. Only the Democratic Party can just select a candidate via super delegates. They're bending their rules by saying Kamala was on the ticket, so technically, people voted for her. Never mind that the VP can be swapped at any time and isn't usually even announced until the convention. They're not even voting at the convention now, but they are doing it via Zoom call days before. I'm not even sure what the convention this year is for.
