Artosis and Day9 could not run their chats any differently. Day9's chat is like study hall with the principal and Artosis's chat is like health class with a substitute teacher who broke out of prison.
And all the students only get out of prison because they're allowed to still get k12 education.

It's funny when you consider HOW much better he'd be at playing the game of it weren't for stream. He also plays slightly differently for the sake of the audience as well, like keeping his camera on combat longer which makes him late on macro cycles and whatnot.

I meannnnn, have you seen some of the other channels on twitch? I'm not even talking about the hot tub or ASMR streams, just things like Quinn's stream, Mason or Admiral Bulldog in DotA, I don't know how they rate these days but XQC and Forsen used to be bad. Basically anyone in the 10K+ range that isn't Cohh can be pretty bad at times too.
I haven't seen Artosis stream for a while so maybe it really is that bad but the M&L erotica can't be as bad as the outright racism, misogyny and bigotry you get on some of twitch.

I was part of that raid and Day9 hyperbolized a little of how effective the ban of those phrases were, the chat didn't go completely quiet, there was still a lot if ascii softcore porn popping up, front facing baby chick spams, non-mario erotica stuff etc.

That's crazy dude. I've gotten banned or timed out for seemingly unknown reasons a few times. I usually assume either the mod is unhinged, or they misclicked the wrong user and were too lazy to undo it.
Also possible that I'm lacking social skills.

Artosis love/hate relationship with both StarCraft and his chat is truly a marvel of twitch evolution. The videos of him going through unban requests where the chat votes by spamming their opinion on the verdict could be the subject of sociological masters thesis
So I only knew Artosis from the very brief days where he played Hearthstone and knew he was a longtime Starcraft player. A couple months ago I saw he had a video where he was talking about Stormgate and I went "Oh, this SC pro I vaguely remember existing is talking about Stormgate. I'm curious as to what perspective he's going to bring to the conversation."
The punchline is that Artosis himself was actually very thoughtful and reasonable in the video and raised some solid points. But he had his twitch chat on screen during the video... and dear lord it might have been the single most toxic twitch chat I've had the displeasure of seeing in anything ever. Just constant hating on Stormgate, calling Artosis bad, unban request spamming, just all around awfulness from beginning to end. You could probably count the number of genuine attempts to engage with the topic on a singular hand throughout that video, and it was not a short video. I swear this chat made freaking vtuber chats look civil and well adjusted by comparison. There's no way that engaging with this level of negativity directed at you on a daily basis is even remotely healthy.

As a former Guy in the (Artosis) Chat, I had to stop watching live because my brain was rotting, and this was long BEFORE the new AI TTS that uses character voices. Now I just watch ArtosisCasts, zero chat and zero RT rage, though occasionally a main-Arty video will come across my feed and I'll watch it with morbid curiosity.
I had one of his come through and watched it out of curiosity. It was basically a rage montage and at one point he was trashing his kid (it was most likely tongue and cheek but still didn't land right if it was supposed to be a joke) and my dumbass made a comment on that and most likely took it too far. Either way I got pounced on by his simps and Arty himself made a video about it the next day lol. If I watch any of his content its just his casts and at this point prefer Falcon's casts for BW more for the entertainment side if I'm not caring about knowing strategies in depth.
In ATCasts 2 he occassionally lets one of those disgusting donations into the VOD and I click the dislike every single time just to make a point. I know he doesn't care tho.

The best is when a storyline gets Artosis to start laughing. It's to a point where I start laughing when he does even if I don't know what he's laughing about.
I enjoy artosis' stream and the chat. I don't participate and never have, but I just for some reason, like the chaos.

I appreciate Sean being a good sport. Someone unfamiliar with the artosjs chat will probably hate the tts at first, but if you stay a while, the degen tts and chat is what’s unique about it. I knew I hated it at first, but you realize to not take it seriously, and remember that chat is mainly 30 year olds just joking about imaginary characters to have some respite from life, you begin to appreciate it. Also, the donos and chat are never hateful, bigoted, racist, or even talk about politics. And if someone passes the cracks, Dan immediately stops the dono. It’s good fun
I'd listen to Day9's stories such interesting stories with some very good descriptions, I'd never thought I'd hear someone call a chat a Modern Day Galpagos Island Invasive Species.

The best/worst part of Artosis' stream is whenever he's playing Terran vs Terran. TvT is such a macro/micro heavy matchup point that it overloads Artosis' brain and he stops registering what the text to speech is reading out loud. He'll be 30 minutes into a TvT microing 4 groups control groups of siege tanks while his viewers are carpet bombing him with Bowser's Big Castle, Luigi's Brown Brew Crew and Canada Dry Ginger Ale donos.

Arty's stream is hypnotic. When he does casts SC2 and TTS is down it's like having more brainpower available suddenly. And dont forget, a couple years ago it was banworthy andd you would get absolutely roasted by Arty if you said, for example, that he missmicroed some scv or whatever.

I used to watch you often back in the "Day[9] Daily" days, but your Magic: The Gathering Content wasn't my jam so I drifted away (the only kind of MtG Content I enjoy is try-hard Competitive EDH from the likes of @PlaytoWinMTG).

I just wanted to express some good vibes of appreciation from someone who was a big fan of yours 5-15+ years ago. I still play SC2 from time to time, but WoW and Elden Ring take most of my Gaming attention.
You would probably love to know that anytime someone complains near me about hand/RSI-pain I always highly recommend your hand-stretches video that you made some 15-odd years ago. People usually give me funny looks when they see that it's a "Gamer" video, but everyone whos actually tried the stretches has been glad they did. Hmm, were you also the person from whom I learned the "20/20/20" Eye-Care Rule? Cause if so I recommend that technique often as well.
