  • The Tren Maya is now servicing the Chichen Itza Train Station. So how does the train connect to the ruins? What is the cost? Will the train replace bus tours to see Chichen Itza? There are a lot of details on how to take the train and how it works now, so be sure to see our adjoining article to this video for more details: everythingplayadelcarmen.com/...
It is important to note that the Tren Maya is still not all finished at this point and there are some glaring things to point out that make it difficult to use the train now. This is the fourth video we have done about the Tren Maya so our readers can get to know it and see what services are offered on the train.
We predict that the Chichen Itza Tren Maya Station will be one of the more popular stops on the Tren Maya. Nealy 7000-9000 people visit Chichén Itza each day. That means that a lot of people are taking bus tours and private tours to the ruins as well as self-driving and taking buses to see the ruins.

Prices, Tren Maya 1193 pesos for a return ticket. 900 - 1100 for a tour with bus. Hotel pickup, stops for cenote and Valladolid. Some even include lunch.

It is going to be interesting to see how fast the train gets and how it integrates with tours and seeing the area. The Tren Maya from Valladolid is only 25 minutes and less than 100 pesos for locals but by the time you take a round trip taxi and bus to the ruins it is near 500 pesos. There are colectivos for 40 pesos each way between Valladolid and Chichen Itza. So, as we have said before, the train will work better for long distance travel.

Do you think this trip is doable if we have luggage with us?
Trying to decide between busing between Merida and Cancun or taking the train.

It is nice to use the train and see how it is. Plus, the train is more comfortable. There are only two trains a day, so it also depends on your schedule.

Also you need to consider the bus from the Tren Maya Station in Merida to the Centro. This is another small payment and about 25 minutes.
