- Our first Home Tour video! This is a walkthrough of our 1,000 square foot manufactured (mobile) home. This is mainly the interior, and there's still work to be done inside. We will be doing some more videos soon going into detail regarding some tips & tricks we've learned so far, and some additional tours of the exterior, landscaping, etc. as we try to make the home more personal. I wish more people could grasp the concept on focusing on what truly matters.
People, in our society, are all about MORE...and instant gratification.
The reasons people were successful seem to have been lost.
Nobody ever said the words, "starter home" back in the day... If folks were lucky enough to buy a car, they took care of it AND KEPT IT.
Sadly, we live in a disposable society. People don't value what they have...it is all about the MORE.

42 years ago, we too, were a family of five in a small 2 bedroom mobile home for several years. We were able to save up enough money to eventually buy a piece of land and have a medium size home framed up, then finished it ourselves, as we had the cash money! Love your home!❤️

I'm so glad to have found your channel. My husband and I are in the process of downsizing to a manufactured home. We currently live in a 2400 sq. ft. home with our two children 23 and 19. The 23-year-old will be married soon. And our 19-year-old son will be moving with us. With this move we will be completely debt free! And my husband will be retiring in 5 years! You did a beautiful job with your home. Very cozy, comfy and inviting!

Very impressive! Our home is 1400, not a manufactured though. Sometimes I feel like we should move to something bigger and “better” but seeing this really opened up my eyes! Going to keep being thankful for my little home, we’ve been blessed with everything we need ❤️

I just recently downsized very drastically too. I get a little twinge of that old "I need to keep up with the Joneses" when I drive by the big fine homes in my neighborhood, but overall I am so much less stressed and content in a smaller home!

Theresa 1967 so true. I have wasted so much money on sewing supplies and expensive fabrics that I wonder if I’ll ever live long enough to use it all up. At least I caught myself and refuse to buy more...well, maybe the occasional zipper or quilt backing, as needed....🙄

What a BEAUTIFUL home !!! I love how you've cut down on what you have. My family is doing the same thing. It's so hard to get rid of the things we love, but it's important to us to live SIMPLY !!! We went from over 1800 square feet to 540 in our retirement home, so even though change is really hard for us, it's sooooo good to feel less burgeoned with stuff.
Your home is quite relaxing and calm... I know it’s probably a wee bit chaotic with the adorable munchkins but your intention shines through....

I have personally lived in 2 manufactured homes in my lifetime and while it may be a small space, it is absolutely possible to make it look good and downsize while still staying organized. You guys did a good job!
I just stumbled upon this older video. You guys are a cute family. And .. Mrs Ma'am.. you look amazing! I just had my 4th little (uh 5 mos ago) and wish I looked that put together! When he was a month old it was an accomplishment to have just brushed my hair. Lol.
Love your decor had you not told me it was only 14 wide I would have thought it was much bigger!
This video brought me to tears. I remember as a young married couple starting out. RIP to my babies daddy. We bought a single wide 4 bedroom. The joy if owning our own home. Thank you for this and God bless your family

You did a great job! It’s so bright and pretty! And the blue cabinets👌🏼😉- love the color. I painted the inside of my cabinets that color!
We bought a small ranch house under 1000 sq ft 17 years ago/ down sized from a house more than 3x the size. That was before downsizing was popular!😂 but we have never regretted it! We have three kids and our youngest was 9 months old when we moved (It gets really tight as they get older).
We have constantly learned to simplify- that’s been a really good thing!
When we bought the house it had very dark stained barn board on every wall through the kitchen & living areas- I painted them all a very light sand color- huge difference!
My grandma used to say: “paper & paint will make ya what ya ain’t” 😂 it’s so true ! A good amount of elbow grease helps too!

We are a family of 5 and live in a 1B 1B apartment. This is we can save 💵 to buy some land and build or first get a small mobile home on the land and build a small home in the future. Happy to see people that think different as well!!

Thank you so much for taking us along on your journey. I have recently downsized from a large home to a 1500 sq ft mobile home. I was fortunate enough to find a mobile that was in great shape and had some major updates done such as windows, AC, and roof. I have added new flooring, paint, and fixtures. I like to repurpose things and have a wonderful repurpose store in my area that I frequent. It is so nice to see young people like yourselves living a simple happy life. I look forward to seeing more of you.

Your home is lovely. We are a family of 6 and are in a 3bdrm 888 square ft manufactured home. Yours seems to be more open than ours so we have trouble making furnature work. My children are 12, 10, 6, 4 and only one is a boy. We also have to 85 pound dogs. It gets tight as they grow but we make it work the best we can. At the end of the day all that really matters is the fact that we are even blessed enough to have a home in the first place. Thank you for sharing.

Family of five I love your downsize video! I myself, Lisa live also in a modular or manufactured home. Living in homes like these you learn to be more humble and appreciate space and home life. I've just started doing some Renovations and remodeling after living here 12 years now. But I am enjoying every minute of seeing from before and after what my home can do. I have had some Plumbing challenges and electrical challenges living in this home but I am slowly working out financially how to get past that.
Y’all did a good job and it looks so clean without a lot of clutter.
What a beautiful family. Living in simplicity and peace it's the way to go.
My husband, 3 children and I lived in a small mobile home when they were little. We were very content to be able to be able to afford to do many things that would have been impossible with a big house payment. Before I turned around, they were pre-teens and we had definitely outgrown the space. Just be prepared. That day comes more quickly than you would think.

Great job! One hint is that if you want your shirts to hang over the bureau, use the hangers with short necks. The long necked hangers I think, are made for coats with full or fur collars. You have a beautiful family!

Very nice! Thank you for sharing. 😊 My mind changed for the better when my mom moved into a mobile home; 2 bedrooms; jacuzzi; 45 oak cabinet kitchen with an island; 2 fireplaces. I couldn't believe it. She landscaped too, and she was always good at editing the "stuff" in our home. I am not. I wish I were.

Thanks!! I agree that singlewide manufactured homes are a great option for downsizing. Bigger than tiny houses on wheels, but they do require a lot or land to put them, since moving one can be expensive. Keep us updated on your journey!! We’re excited for you all!!
Wow, great size mobile home. We lived in a 732 sq ft one for a year with our 4 kiddo’s. We didn’t have nearly that much space but you know what? I was all ours! Bought and paid for ☺️

Love seeing a family that lives like mine! My family of 6 lives in a 1200 square foot modular home and we love it! We did by it new though so its more of a payment. We had to downsize considerably moving in here. We don’t keep things we don’t need because we don’t have room for it! lol

Beautiful - family and home! I live in an 864 sq ft home built in 1945 on a 1/3 acre. I’ve got nothing against big homes, but I really enjoy the easy upkeep on my country cabin.

I am 23 and trying to figure out how to get out of debt and stay out of debt all while trying to figure out how to move out in the future at the same time. We're a family of 6 and 1000 sq ft would be upgrading! Lol!! I have a soft spot for mobile homes. I think they are cute!! We currently live in a 2 bed, 1 bath cottage under 900 sq ft.

Love this video! You guys are wonderful and I relate: seven children plus two equals a family of nine and one bathroom. Once we had four children in one bedroom with triple bunks and a crib. Those were the days my friend. Beautiful baby.

My family of 5 just bought a mobile home for $500 from a family who upgraded to a huge house and didn’t want to deal with it. We are going to add another bedroom and live in a park for a year while we save for land and move it. We have special needs boys that will need us close by so my dream is to have us all on the same land with our own homes. ❤️ I plan to share videos. Thank you for breaking the stigma on manufactured homes.

I got inspired by you and decided to remodel our mobile home too. My husband and I were initially going to see if we could get a house instead but we didn’t want a high mortgage payment. After looking at your video we decided to just remodel our home to save money.

8/6/18....WISH I had been less materialistic as I finished school/ got my 1st home/began work.
Lost everything in a fire 20 yrs ago & bought ALL NEW thanks to replacement ins policy.....Didn't think ahead so I filled 4 bedroom house---then decluttered & moved to FL.....WHAT a huge task....Then decluttered/downsized 2nd time.
Now in nice mfg home subdivision
with HOA & own 1/3 acre with fenced back yard---so rescue puppy is happy & has play-dates!
Doing 3rd/final declutter & down-
sizing but keeping my various lovely collections. DON'T miss extra space---less "stuff" out b/c
I display different collections @ different times of the year. And sure appreciate minimal HOA fees + 55+ age restriction + NO RENTALS.......ALL the neighbors stay active & look out for each other. DON'T miss the hassle & hussle of Atlanta lifestyle but didn't enjoy "visit" by IRMA last Sept.....Luckily most damage was tree limbs & NO electricity for 1 week.
You're fortunate to keep minimalist mindset---yet enjoy a lot of activities as you budget/spend wisely.
NEVER thought I'd have a mfg home, but the dog & I are enjoying our easy living lifestyle & staying active/becoming even more healthy.

I'm so glad I seen this, me and my husband are making a offer on a manufacture home this week, it's about 1300 sqft, it's 3 bedrooms but it's much smaller than the house we are living In now. We are a family of 5 also, so I'm sure we will be fine, but we have a lot of work to do with it but I'm excited

I love your home. We sold our large 4 bedroom house to move in with my mom to care for her in her mobile home. I love living on the little lake I grew up on, also mortgage free.
