Be More Chill - which had its world premiere in an extended run at Two River Theater, Red Bank, NJ - has music and lyrics by Joe Iconis, book by Joe Tracz, and is based on the novel by Ned Vizzini. The show was directed by Stephen Brackett with Chase Brock serving as choreographer. The orchestrator and musical supervisor was Charlie Rosen and the musical director and copyist was Nathan Dame. The Be More Chill cast album was produced by Kurt Deutsch, Joe Iconis and Charlie Rosen.
Praised as “a high-energy, imaginative, well-crafted world premiere musical” in The Star-Ledger, Be More Chill was lauded as “a vibrant, inventive musical that makes the most of every moment and features an abundantly talented cast” by BroadwayWorld.
Jeremy Heere (played by Will Connolly) is just an average teenager. That is, until he finds out about “The Squip” (Eric William Morris) - a tiny supercomputer that promises to bring him everything he desires most: a date with Christine (Stephanie Hsu), an invite to the raddest party of the year and a chance to survive life in his suburban New Jersey high school. But is being the most popular guy in school worth the risk?

The best part about the actor for Michael was he started genuinely crying because it broke his heart so much. He felt so passionate for the character and his role as playing the character. I hope to hear him get more roles in the future cause he’s really good.

You can see how much George cares and how his emotions play in with his character even when he is not on stage.
Pure, talented, interpretation. It's pure magic. I've watched this over 100 times.
One: I love how the actor sings with so much emotion it makes me feel what he is feeling. I love how much passion he sings with also, you can just tell he’s so in character.
Two: the music. It starts very light then as michaels anxiety attack gets more intense, the music starts getting more intense. More instruments are being added and it gets louder. It adds to to the emotion so much and as michael starts to calm down, the music gets less over bearing and it ends with the same light tune from the beginning.

In love when George is singing he can't just stand still, and i like he does these movements that actually express these feelings Michael is feeling. He's just too good and precious omg. When he does these movements you can see he has actual passion in what he's doing. Its just too good. How can such a GOD exist
I love the moments where George just gets SO into it, especially around 2:50 and 4:27 where he like stomps his feet or grabs his headphones. I just really love seeing singers that so clearly believe in what they're singing, and in every performance I've seen of George, he always gets the message across with just the right emotion and conviction.
In conclusion I love him and the entire cast of BMC they're all wonderful thank u for ur time
Ryan Ross I have to say the reason this is my favorite song in the BMC soundtrack is because there's so much emotion put into it. The other songs dont sound bad or anything, but this one has so much feeling jampacked into not only the lyrics but also the delivery. He did such an amazing job.

What is so hurtful to me is that you think Michael is the strong one all the time. While you can see how everything wears down Jeremy (or really, already has at the beginning of the musical), Michael is always in a good mood, builds Jeremy up again and promises him a brighter future. He seems so unfazed by it all, being happy about his sushi and the lady in the supermarket/deli. And then we see him in the bathroom and find out that every insult has been heard by him (the lines about him being a loner, driving a PT Cruiser, etc), but he just hasn't shown any effect of that on him. Often, people are far more hurt than they let show. Or maybe it seems the only thing helping Michael to not being broken by it all was his best friend as well, whom he just lost and now he doesn't know where to go anymore.
Makes him actually showing up for the school play all the greater, if you ask me.
